Worked like a charm
I used this for separating the ball joints on my 2000 venture for replacing the axle half shaft. It was easy to select the correct size and the get the joint separated while hitting it with a mallet. I did not try it with my air hammer as I wanted a little more finesse. I would recommend this to the shade tree mechanic. If you are going to maybe use this thing a few times, it would be great. If you plan on using this professionally, you may want something of higher quality.

GREAT TOOL FOR A GREAT PRICE
This Pickle Fork set is the best. I really love it. The parts are well made and smooth to the touch to your hands. Durable. You can knock the crap out of it with a hammer and it wont bend or distort. It has a attachment so you can use it with a air hammer vice using the manuel hammer. I love it becuase those ball joints are always different sizes and if you dont have the correct size then you tear the boot up and then you have a boot that gets full of dirt. It really doesnt look like much of a tool set but i found it is very nice to use. To me well worth the money.

Great value for very solid forks.
I beat the absolute tar out of this set replacing my pitman and idler joints, including smacking the ends repeatedly with a 4lb hammer. It seemed to enjoy the abuse and doesn't appreciate sitting in its case. I've beat more expensive pickle forks before, and this set took the same whoopin even though it didnt sting my wallet the same!

Perfect for Home Use
For the shade tree mechanic that does your own suspension work, this is a must and a great value. I used it for the first time today and it worked like a champ. The frustration I avoided in breaking loose my tie rod end more than justified the reasonable price for this tool. My only advice is to make sure you use a sledgehammer, as a standard hammer won't really do the job. One whack with the big hammer and the tie rod was free and clear!

SAVES TIME!
Before using this product, I have tried to separate a steering arm from the ball joint with crow bars, sledge hammers, etc. for an hour with no success. Using the picklefork, I got it separated in less than 10 seconds.

Did the trick!
Do-it-yourselfer here. Bought the tool to help me work on an old Ford. Did the trick. Not sure how it would stand up to constant use but it made removing the ball joints a breeze.

Best choice...
This is a really nice set at a nice price...I especially like the addition of the air hammer for applying a hammer to the picklefork for that extra motivation on a ball joint or tie-rod end...
