It detects movement and alarms to your phone, picture quality is good and has good nightsight. There is no technical information, it focuses on how to mount the device, no manual as such.

I have good broadband but product is slow in response time

The first (small) complication is that there are multiple Yale apps. You need the one called "Yale Home". After you get it, you plug it in to charge it, fire up the app, add the device (it asks you scan the QR code on its back) and then it also gives you the hardware installation instructions. It was very easy. I then added the "Yale Home" Amazon Alexa skill, so it rings on my echo devices as well.The delay from pressing the button is a few seconds most of the time, so that's fine. There are a few occasions where there seem to be a bigger delay, but I don't think it's often.The quality is good day and night, however this is after a replacement: my first device had its IR filter stuck, so during daytime the image was all pink (flooded with IR). However, Yale support was fast to send me a replacement.The battery seems to last a long time (haven't recharged it yet, it's been over a month). Quite happy overall, although it did require a replacement and the multiple Yale apps situation is not ideal.

Really impressed by this, easy to fix, easy to use. Picture quality is great, very clear both video and audio. Recommended

Unfortunately I can't rate this product lower than one, I've had nothing but issues with it since opening.Firstly you need an account to use it, my main doorbell one that I have doesn't require this. You can set that up without an account but wouldn't have cloud for example.This will not allow you to skip the process. It then demands your phone number, you can't skip without providing a valid UK one!Then it demands a photograph of your face? What? Why do they need this information? You can upload a blank screen but still it shouldn't need this.Each and every single time I tried setting up the app I was met with error after error. I've uploaded a photo showing this problem, I couldn't create an account until I tried in the early hours of the morning.Before even bothering to attempt to fit I wanted to check it worked, the drill holes are in different places than my other and I wasn't ruining the wall outside if it wasn't right.Once set up through the app I put it through the works, testing and making sure it was good.Sadly it wasn't, it doesn't notify when the button is pressed for a good half a minute. It doesn't push notifications correctly, any recordings I've had won't play back. I have to reset each and every single time. There's no base station so you're completely reliant on it pushing notifications to alert you.The video quality is excellent but the TalkBack is pants. There's a delay, it doesn't feed through quick enough.Another major flaw is it has zero instructions, I had to work out how it could be wall mounted. I then discovered a really serious problem, the way it locks into the wall plate means you can easily pull it off the wall.There's a release pin in the box, the idea is you press into the bottom hole and it pushes a locking clip up. This is where you remove it when needing to charge for example. Well, you can actually pull it off the wall plate without much effort.My other door bell camera is locked into a metal mount. You can't get that off without the pin, this could easily be taken.The final issue is how it stores data, my other door bell has a base a base station. In that is a SD card. I have not only cloud saves but I also have a permanent method to protect visits. That's also how it rings, there is no such thing with this, so not only does the non existent alerting mean you miss people at the door it also means you have no backup if someone clears off with the unit.

I'm a bit torn on this device. I found it was really irritating to set up and it is fairly slow at allowing you to things which defeats it's point a bit. I think it might be worth it if you're already deep into the Yale home security ecosystem with all the other gadgets because they seem to mesh well together but if you only have a few devices here and there, it is a lot of hassle with limited use and kinda buggy. Overall it's not awful but I'm not sold on the value. Probably a worthwhile edition if you want a complete automated home security system though as the other devices might be able to help alert you with less delay. Not that helpful if all you have are a few alarms

As I ordered this Yale Smart Video Doorbell for our new house I have not given it it's full work-out but what I have seen seems to be compatible with our needs and expectations. I expected that a well known brand as Yale is would produce something that is quality.We did muddle through a bit on the app, not that hard but it was getting the video to show. All sorted on that front, we were impressed y the quality of the video and the wide angle that it gave. As people of a certain age don't go around with their smartphone glued to their hand I was somewhat concerned that there is no ringer inside the house, only the alert to your phone. I was, therefore, delighted to see that the doorbell can be linked to your Alexa account so you are alerted that way and I have a few Alexa devices dotted around the house so I shouldn't miss any caller, unless I'm in the garden, of course, but that's probably the same with an actually door chime.I think this will be very useful in our new property and I look forward to using it.

Set macht einen wertigen und soliden eindruck. installation ist auch für technische laien machbar.. bildqualität ist gut. leider verliert die kamera häufiger die wlan-verbindung trotz guter verbindung. deswegen nur bedingt zu empfehlen.
