I found this book to be a real blessing! Chuck gives so much down to earth teaching on the Christian life, and shares much about what he learned from his personal failures and successes in the ministry. A wonderful book which I will probably read again.

I ordered this book because I wanted to learn more about Chuck Smith before the movie "Jesus Revolution" hits the theaters. It was a great insight to his life story. God used him in such a beautiful way!

I started listening Pastor Chuck Smith around 2 years ago in my tractor-trailer when i was driving around southern California. I got amazed to the humble responses to questions about the Bible from this man in a radio program named "The Pastor's Perspective". When this book was publicized for the request of others but the Pastor Chuck, I wanted to know the beginning of this well balanced ministry that God has endorsed through a great amount of fruits (espiritual and material)around the world. This book talks about several experiencies that Pastor Chuck experimented including frustrations and failures in the beginning of his ministry. It seemed to me to short even though it has a very respectable size, but it is because you want to know more and more about what God can do in the life of a simple man that has let God work in his life. Pastor Chuck has very good recommendations to the persons who want to work for God in the ministry. I just can say that Chuck Smith is one of the best Bible teachers after Jesus. He is very humble and down to earth man of God. I am not member of any Calvary Chapel, yet. but I can say at last that it is a relief to find this kind of man in a world where there are many people self called espiritual that twist the Bible and people's life. Thats no the case of Pastor Chuck Smith. God bless him.

I had the privilege to attend the church Papa Chuck used to pastor and let me tell you God used this man to bring me back to His path after walking away due to misrepresentation of the Lord in other churches. This book is so beautifully written and as alway, Papa Chuck preaches about God’s unconditional love for us. Highly recommend.

Truly to walk through the pages of Chuck life has been to me one of the most wonderful blessings, to see the work of God in Chuck and Kay's life is Faith personified. My prayers are forever with the family of this wonderful man now with his saviour. Blessing to our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Chuck Smith has inspired me so much over the years with his amazing teaching and it is wonderful to read about his journey and how God has worked throughout his life. Great book.

For those impacted by the 1970s Jesus movement, Pastor Chuck Smith is an important part of their life history. This book captures his humility, humour, and wisdom. A strong theme in this book is Pastor Smith's conviction that everything that we go through can help prepare us for new adventures. I highly commend this thoughtful book.
