I have a short haired dog with a thick coat. This worked really well to deshed him. He loved it too.

This brush is well constructed and works well, the deshedding rake goes in the handle, and two finer combs slide out the top.Rated 4 stars because it's a rather aggressive brush, and my cat doesn't really care much for how agressive and rough it is.Probably better suited for a dog than a cat.
