Advanced ???
Not sure why this book is called Advanced ... it is no more advanced than my basic Javascript bible book. The object oriented section of the book is a whole 6 pages !! Are you kidding me?Not impressed.

Worst JavaScript book I've ever read
There is nothing advanced about the JavaScript in this book. It's written entirely for beginner programmers. As an example of how far from "advanced" this book is, the word "closure" appears nowhere in the book. From the writing, I'm pretty sure the author doesn't know what a closure is anyway. To elaborate on that, it seems that most of the pages in this book have at least one error on them. In one case the author even claims that large arrays assigned to local variables consume additional stack space. He continually mixes up programming jargon, misusing the words variable, argument, scope, prototype, etc. He appears to be unaware that there are multiple popular implementations of JavaScript, e.g. claiming that JavaScript has no decent debugger, as if it was some monolithic entity. This last point is probably due to the book being incredibly out of date. The book is loaded with outdated and poor practices. This is made really obvious by its full-caps HTML tags, the heavy use of document.write(), and the disregard for JavaScript's accepted conventions (capitalized constructor names, brace placement, etc). The book regularly refers to Netscape Navigator -- a browser that disappeared from the web an entire decade before the latest edition's publication date. This is by far the worst JavaScript book I've come across so far. Attempting to learn JavaScript from this book will leave your brain littered with misinformation that will need to be unlearned.

Advanced?
This book is not advanced, it doesn't mention even current techniques used in the language, AJAX, JSON, libraries, etc. I has microsoft-tunnelled vision, it does not show the use the language has right now.It seems the author just updates a couple of sections to create a new edition, please look further for a good javascript book.
