These are some great bowls. They are the perfect size for salad or pasta and they really look nice in my kitchen. They feel nice and sturdy and like they could survive a short bang or two on the counter. There are some marks that look like the paint dripped/ wasnt fully dry before touching, but it is very subtle and I don't mind. Overall I really like these!

These bowls have a charming casual style that might remind you of hand-made pottery. The upper part has a satin glaze of ivory with a few dark speckles. The lower part looks at first like unglazed terra cotta, but is really just a different color glaze. All protected by a glaze means they go nicely through the dishwasher though I wouldn't want to leave stoneware soaking in water for very long. The ivory-and-earth colors are neutral for any casual decor, I think.Big bowls like these could be used as serving dishes, but with a 30-ounce capacity these bowls are also a good size for individual dinner-sized servings of pasta or salad.Good news, bad news:(1) The bowls are heavy, more than 1.5 pounds apiece. That weight keeps them from sliding around in use. But if you have a small child learning to clear the table, carrying one safely might be a challenge.(2) That attractive handmade style includes bottom edges that are not completely smooth. Be cautious in using them on varnished or shiny furniture, because they may scratch.(3) Straight sides are great for keeping food from escaping while you -- or the kids -- scoop, twirl or pierce your dinner. But although the bowls make a steady stack, they don't fit very far inside each other. Four bowls are a stack 5+ inches tall and 8 inches across; It isn't easy for me to find them some cabinet space.I really like the way these bowls look and function, even with their few drawbacks. Maybe I can give away some of these older shaped baking pans I haven't used ...

Not only are these bowls great for pasta, but also for serving small kiddos who sometimes have trouble keeping their food on the plate. The size is perfect and the design is very appealing. The finish on these bowls has been much more durable than a set I previously purchased from a big box store.
