Philips SBCMD150/00 - Corded Microphone

Once again cogratulations to Amazon for their excellent and prompt service, also to Philips for producing a first class Karaoke microphone with a 3.5 jack plug for use with laptop computers. After a long search, I can now sing on karaoke websites! Keep up the good work Amazon and Philips?

This is a low-to-medium spec mono mic intended for karaoke. If you intend to connect this to a stereo socket, you are strongly advised to buy a 3.5mm mono female jack socket to 3.5mm stereo plug adapter (they cost about £1 on e-bay). This will ensure that both channels (which will be the same mono sound) come out at the same volume. I use mine as a stopgap PA mic and in particular to plug into my computer for use with voice recognition software. It's a very robust item and good value. Anyone who wants to record themselves in hifi should get a good-quality condenser mic (quite a few on Amazon for not much money and with good reviews).

i bought this item with intentions on using it to record my own songs as im a songwriter... however the sound quality is poor, also it is quiet and u can hardly hear it over other sounds. and it seems to be recording louder in the left speaker than it is in the right. its supposedly got '360 degrees' technology, which means the sound will be louder depending on where i hold the mic, e.g. if i sing on the left side of the mic, the left speaker will be louder when listening to what youve recorded, but ive found this is not true. no matter how/where i hold the mic its always louder on the left side...i regret buying this item.

OK quality item with poor performance.

There was nothing in the product info to suggest that this was only a mono microphone. Unfortunately, by the time I realised that this product was completely useless in relation to why I bought it, I had very foolishly thrown the packaging away. You have to virtually shout into it to get any level of volume and it doesn't do much to filter distortion either. It really was a complete and utter waste of money and I wouldn't recommend it unless you specifically want to make audio recordings of such low volume you can hardly hear them. Complete c##p!

Wish I had tested it before thirty days had passed so that I could have gotten a refund. Didn't work at all.

Ovviamente non parliamo di un microfono professionale. L’ho comprato per attaccarlo ad una cassa in occasione di una festa. Ora lo uso a scuola durante le riunioni e va benissimo.

El micro que compré estaba abierto tal y como pedí. Funciona muy bien. Lo único que cuando se acerca mucho a la boca no se escucha bien. Otra pega que el cable me esperaba que fuera algo mas largo. Y respecto a edición de solamente se escucha por un lado, hay que ponerlo para que se escuche por los dos manualmente en la edición .
