Moisturizing, looks natural, easy to apply - needs primer + powder
I have found Estee Lauder to have a magnificent shade range and match across their foundation lines, and the Estée Lauder Futurist SkinTint Serum Foundation is no different - I appreciate the fact that the shade I ordered was close to my skin with appropriate undertones. It's important to remember that this (or any) skin tint is intended to be the lightest of true foundations: it's a wash of color intended to even out skin tone without looking or feeling mask-like or give very full coverage. The Estée Lauder Futurist SkinTint Serum Foundation gives "I woke up like this" or "no-makeup makeup", though it is a bit buildable.I love the moisturizing power of this foundation as well as the inclusion of SPF. It feels comfortable on my skin, and I barely notice that I have it on. I also found it to be easy to apply: a long glass dropper is included, so I didn't need to contaminate it with my hands.I will say that I don't recommend this foundation for very oily skin, nor for ladies who don't want the dewy look/prefer something more matte. The reasons I deducted one star are as follows:- Applied without primer, this foundation substantially highlights visible pores, which is not a look I am going for. I used a good poreless primer underneath and had better results, but that could be an issue for someone who has visible pores but chooses a skin tint for ease of use and don't expect to need that level of prep. This same statement is true for lines in the face, though less so in my experience (I don't have many lines on my face, so others might have different outcomes).- This product does not "set" on the face: when I did not finish with a powder, it came off easily when I touched my face, not to mention using a napkin (lightly). It just seemed to be a bit too "removable", though this aspect was improved significantly when I did a light layer of powder all over to finish. In short, this is another high-quality product from Estee Lauder, a brand I have loved and admired for years. With a bit of knowledge and prep, this skin-tint style foundation can provide a dewy glow with the added bonuses of SPF and skin-enhancing ingredients.

Buildable foundation
Love how light weight this foundation is and how you can build it with other products

Beautiful (for the most part) but…
The ingredients listed on Amazon don’t fully capture all of the ingredients in the product. It (at the time of my purchase, at least) fails to mention that in addition to zinc oxide for sun protection, it has two chemical sunscreens in it. (I stupidly didn’t check the box label before tossing it, but noticed the back of the bottle when I checked it after about 5 hours of the strongest sunscreen smell of anything I’ve at least kept on my face. To me: it’s what higher doses of titanium dioxide smells like.)Not only do the chemical sunscreens have a STRONG odor that does not dissipate even a little throughout the entire day, but it seems to have disrupted my skin barrier after well over a year of keeping it at a healthy strength.I wish tinted/makeup products would just stop trying to do everything. SPF 20 is laughable, and in my opinion, it ruins the formula of a product. If not for the chemical sunscreens, this could have been a legitimately hydrating tint based on the ingredients listed—why I bought it. But after about 3 hours of wear, the skin around my mouth looked and felt like all the moisture had been sucked out of it.I was foolish to try a new product on a workday, but with a busy weekend planned, I wouldn’t have been able to try it for 9 more days, so I just went for it.After about the 5th hour of wear, the smell started to give me a headache. AllI wanted to do was get it off my face. My face felt tight and dehydrated, the color had oxidized slightly, and my normally smooth-looking skin showed visibly pores.Although this all may sound fairly horrible (it definitely didn’t feel good either), I’m going to give my skin a rest for a few weeks and try again with heavier moisturizer application underneath to see the difference. I was very conservative with my moisturizing primer application too because, based on a couple other reviews, I was thinking it would look greasy if I didn’t.So, in my second attempt, I’ll also not powder it and/or mist a setting spray. I’ll make sure to not use a hyaluronic acid serum first, too, as that pulls moisture into the skin throughout the day, but if the skin tint on top of all the moisturizer has a chemical sunscreen in it, that got pulled below the dermis, which may have contributed to the dry appearance and feel, and reddened skin when I took off the tint. The reason I’d give this a try again after everything I just said is because it is so easy to apply, it goes on smoothly and quickly, and evens out beautifully with a pounced around DRY Beauty Blender. (Wet removed the tint.) Its consistency is just right—not too thick or too thin. My normal makeup routine takes so long, even though I love the product (Salt New York Sneaky Balm)…. And now that I know what to expect from the smell, I can wear and bring with me for the day a lightly scented (coconut) zinc oxide lip balm that distracts my olfactory senses. Honestly, I’ll generally use this on top of my normal lip balm because my sense of smell makes the world overwhelming anyways with all of its offensive smells. So I might be to blame for my olfactory discomfort on Makeup Test Day….Side note: I have a strong sense of smell, so maybe it won’t bother others!Smell: 1/5Application: 5/5Sunscreen protection and overall SPF value: 0/5Worth trying again still: Darnit, yes…. I just want something easy and fast. Let’s hope my prep adjustments help. If they do, I’ll update this review.

Great Quality And Moisturizing Coverage
Estee has always been a favorite brand of mine whether it be makeup or perfume and I liked this skin tint quite a bit. I ordered a shade a little bit too dark but that is my own fault of course. I still went ahead and used it as if it were my shade though and applied it to my entire face. It has a light pleasant scent to it. This skin tint went on so easy and smooth…light and airy almost. There were even some small bubbles in it when I used the dropper to get some out of the bottle. I already had applied moisturizer several hours earlier but this product felt as if I was applying moisturizer at the same time as the tint. I just used my fingertips for the first time using this and even they felt hydrated just from applying it to my face. It would have been a smoother application if I had used a makeup sponge/brush. I normally try not to use powder because it makes my fine lines and wrinkles show up so much more at my age (50’s) so blotted my face with a tissue after I applied this to cut down on the wet shiny look. This was easily removable with baby wipes which I like if I’m in a hurry. Estée Lauder did not disappoint at all as usual with this product.. I will be finding the correct shade for me so I can wear this all the time. Although this is a little pricey Estée Lauder is a high quality product and it’s totally worth it. I didn’t have to use much at all to get full coverage. It did provide good coverage on my skin where I have some discoloration from age spots and small blemishes that I hadn’t expected it to cover as well as it did so I was impressed.
