Call me the Asian Steph Curry
As an Asian man with a below than average height, this mini basketball hoop has me questioning my career path. Call me the Asian Steph Curry, I bought this back in 2014 and I continue to drain hoops till today. I personally don't hook it over my door firstly because I live in an old house and the door for some reason doesn't close when I hook it up. And playing with the hoop hanging on the door made too much noise for me from the rattling. So I just decided to bolt it on the wall right above my bed. I also don't use the ball that came with the hoop cause its too big and heavy and makes the noise even louder. I had these small white therapy balls and they have been perfect for shooting hoops. I love having competitions and making money bets with my cousins. This is definitely a must buy for anyone who loves basketball and want an upgrade from shooting crumbled paper into a garbage bin.

The best and the worse gift I could have ever bought
The best and the worse gift I could have ever bought! My son loves it and has been playing with it ever since he got it. We hooked it to his bedroom door. You should be asking yourself why did I say the worse gift if he loves it so much? Simple, because the only thing I hear in my house ever since we bought this is the bang bang bang bang noise of the ball against the floor and the door since he has not stopped playing!Good quality hook, the ball was perfect too. Really good durable product

Backboard is weak, hardware is great as donor parts if you get a sheet of 1/4" plexiglass elsewhere
I actually like this thing, but don't look at the backboard on it and think its solid. Its very flexible, and the rim is heavy and solid steel. So you could do some damage with this thing if you let kids get out of hand. I have it hanging on their closet door. The back is padded with about 1/8" foam, but I will likely go buy some weatherstripping and add to it. The rim is pretty cool, and if you broke it, you could definitely re-use it and rig up some garage type mini goal or something. The tensioned required to pop the little breakaway rim down is enough to bend the back board pretty bad. So little kids dunking on it, well, I guess we'll see. Something tells me I'll be re-painting a door down the road. The little ball it comes with is kind of heavy. In a bedroom full of stuff, it could do some damage. I've forbidden the use of it already (because I don't want broken fan globes) and restricted it to foam ball use. Still, its 4 stars. I tried to cover the negatives. Its good, and is roughly the cost of a couple of old nerf hoops.Update - 2/419 Got this at Christmas for the kids. They broke the backboard this past weekend. Snapped it in half right above the rim. Dropped it to 2 stars, because 10yr old kids were able to destroy it. Although the hardware is still made of metal, and I'll end up going to the hardware store and having a piece of plexiglass cut, get some thick weatherstripping to line the back of that, and reinstall the hardware and rim back to that piece. Back to the original title - Backboard is not solid if thats what you're thinking.Update 2/19/19 - Ordered a 1/4" sheet of 12x18" plexiglass from Ebay. Used the broken backboard as a template and drilled out new mounting holes. Had to use a little longer length screws on the upper mounts than what was on the original, but the original rim nuts/bolts worked fine. Just have to hit the hardware store for some weatherstripping, but by using the original setup as basically a donor (because I knew it would break), this is going to be a ridiculously awesome bedroom goal. New backboard is as solid as a piece of plywood.

useless if i cant close the door..
what the heck? what's the point of this if i cannot close my door? you can certainly flip the hoop to the opposite side of the door to face inside the room when door is closed but guess what...it hits the wall it opens to on all my doors. would be nice if the hoop folded up instead of damaging walls. no idea where to put this now. decent quality but the spring tension is super tight, if you think about touching the rim when you attempt a dunk it'll break the thin backboard. barely worth $20

Excellent indoor hoop to keep your basketball passion alive!
As a working professional, I don't get much time to really hoop outdoors. But when I came across this mini basketball hoop I can mount on my wall, I couldn't resist trying it out. I was super excited when I received it, the box contained the Plexiglas backboard, metal hooks with screws to hand over the door, and of course the rubber deflated mini basketball.I hung the backboard with the hooks over my door, but it still made a lot of noise from the impact of the hard basketball against the backboard and the door (despite there being rubber cushion between the backboard and the door). As a solution, and for a better hoop experience, I decided to mount it against my wall instead. I removed the door hooks, and decided to Velcro the back of the backboard and the wall - it was perfect! Now I hoop while I'm at home, but I do recommend getting a foam ball to keep the noise level down. Happy hooping ballers!

It looks WAY cooler than it is playable
Solid construction, looks great. However with the flexible plexiglass board + sponge ball + weight of metal hoop causing backer to bend under tension ... this is one unplayable set due to how extreme the bounce & richochet is. Either your shot is absolutely perfect, or the ball rockets away on some random direction away from the shooter at 98% the speed of light. We even moved this to our front door, using the foyer / entry hallway as corridor walls to limit the extreme distance of the richochet shots, and still measured ourselves spending nearly 17 hours chasing down balls for every 2 seconds of actual basket shot attempts. In fact, attempts to bounce the ball off the backboard to assist shots kept resulting in the basketball somehow being catapaulted higher and further away than the actual shot attempt, endangering the foyer chandelier hanging 18ft above. It is like the backboard & rim are entrypoints to alternate dimensions to cave trolls playing whack-a-mole.Again, this set looks WAAAAAAY cooler than it actualy is to play. Maybe future models should include some thought towards reducing multiplicative effects of elasticity

Worth the investment
This is good quality which was essential to me as I want my 5 year old to still have it up in his late teens (and I fully expect it to last that long). It fits our door, it encourages spontaneous active play, it has no faults or annoying features and the ball (should it ever need to be replaced) is a size which is easy to source. I would buy again (not that I will need to).

It doesn't glow
I paid few quid more for the midnight version hoping to get a nice glowing ball and backboard. Unfortunately it doesn't glow at all! Its a nice piece of equipment but I regret to pay more for something what doesn't work as advertised.

Sturdy but noisy
Sturdy, can be noisy when you get the ball in the basket so some additional padding is definitely required and would have been great if it came with it. We put somr cardboard behind it, but this falls down after a few baskets.
