MINIMALIST RUNNING / BAREFOOT RUNNING The typical human foot is an anatomical masterpiece of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. To keep our feet healthy, like the rest of our bodies, they need to be stimulated and exercised regularly. Many experts believe the shoes we wear not only cast the foot in a protective form, but can also weaken our foot and leg muscles, leaving them underdeveloped and more susceptible to injury. And while there are many occasions where traditional footwear is essential for protection, safety, and security, it is equally important to stimulate and exercise our feet in a more natural state on a regular basis. To stimulate the muscles in your feet and lower legs, which in turn can make stronger, healthier and improve your balance then the Vibram Fivefingers could help you achieve this. Use them for training, running and many other activities to see the benefits!

Great
I have size 8 feet and the size 8 fit me really well. They are maybe a fraction bigger than I would want, but the size lower are impossible for me to put on.Been wearing these at the gym for about 6 months now, and I usually work out 4x a week for around 90 minutes each session split between 2 upper body and 2 lower body, and around 35 mins cardio on a cross trainer. They are a great fit, and by the 3rd time of wearing them I got used to the angle and toe placement when you put them on.I don't use them outside, so they have very little wear and tear so far. They are comfortable for long periods of wear, but don't keep your feet very warm in the colder months, so wear some decent quality toe socks.I have worn them outside very briefly when getting the bus home from the gym when it was raining, but I didn't get wet feet so I guess they are at least mildly water resistant for walking on a wet pavement for a few minutes.I was also pleased to discover they are great for my sim-racing setup at home, they feel much better than using the pedals with socks or trainers.I will definitely buy another pair in the future.

Great for HIIT training, balance and general wear.
After much deliberation and research, I decided to invest in a pair of these Vibram Fivefingers KMD’s. Having had a look at some cheaper versions of the Fivefingers (KSO LS Sport were one of them) I made the decision to go with KMDs due to their lateral support rather than just for running.Quality wise – these are what you’d expect from the price and brand. They are well put together but extremely flexible and light. The construction and grip of the Vibram compound rubber sole really helps in terms of protecting your feet when training, but also giving you tons of ground feedback and allowing your feet to do what they are supposed to, which for me has led to improving balance and form. Ive only been using these for gym based workouts and Insanity, so cant comment on the barefoot running yet, but I can imagine if these are your first paid of barefoot style minimalist shoes you’ll need to be careful as there is no shock absorption at all so they’ll take some getting used to.There are however, 2 things to be mindful of when your buying these trainers:- If you have abnormally shaped feet, they may feel a little big/small in some places. I have crazy long big toes so they fit in the toe pockets and my other toes feel a little loose, but its not a problem for me, it just took some getting used to- As you are supposed to wear these barefoot, they are likely to stink very quickly. Sweat and bacteria from your feet will be absorbed by the shoe and unless you clean your feet before you put these on, in a week of wear they’ll be ready for the wash. I bought some ‘No More Stink’ training shoe inserts which have been an absolute godsend – 1 month without washing and they don’t smell all that bad. Highly recommended if you’re considering a pair of FivefingersOverall, If you want to improve your joint and foot health and give yourself a training boost, I’d highly recommend these Fivefingers. Once you get over the initial ‘WTF is going on with my feet?’ moment on the first wear you’ll be pleasantly surprised how much they add to the quality of your workouts.

Really comfortable and light to wear
Really comfortable and light to wear.Only downside is the time it takes to put them on lining up your toes. Not a fault of the product but is due to the design.

plus the shape of my feels while bearing in mind that I love to keep my toe nails really long (reasonable length) ...
I bought these for myself. I wear UK size 9 with regular trainers. I usually exercise 1-2hours daily 4-5 days a week (I am an exercise freak/addict) after struggling with weight gain during my 2nd pregnancy (38kg weight gain) I have lost 45 kg in the last 2-3years, so to me my trainers are a big deal. I am sure you have all figured I am a Lady. I was feeling adventurous so after reading so much about these shoes I was anxious to trying them out. I worried about what sizes to buy after reading all the reviews but then I decided to focus on my trainers / shoes needs, what I wanted or expected my trainers to do for my feet, plus the shape of my feels while bearing in mind that I love to keep my toe nails really long (reasonable length) and my toes hurt if my trainers are too tight because of my toe nails. So with all these in mind I decided to buy a UK size 9 vibram pair of trainers and they fit perfectly, very comfortable, I can sleep in them. They also arrived in excellent time no delays. I also bought a pair (different design)for my 11years old son and he absolutely loves them too.

Don't seem as good as my old pair of Komodo Sports
Generally, I love Fivefingers shoes. My old pair lasted years and the Treksports I have are still going strong.However...The old model had adjusters around the heels which was helpful for me. Also, the upper material on the new model seems rougher/harsher/less good quality than the old model. Have only worn these once so far, but something doesn't quite feel right about the left shoe (it seems slightly twisted externally at the heel and some the material around the heel is cut differently on the two shoes). They may yet get returned....

110% recommend - I am never going back to normal running trainers
these shoes are brilliant even when wet they hug your feet in a very sensory way. its really put a new spin on my running it took a while to transition (its been around 4 weeks - 3milers etc then last week did 10k) watch the transitioning as it can be slightly painful as you start using different muscles and if you push it it can be achy. That said I feel like I have new strength and muscle in my feet especially strength around the arch. I used to run with support for over pronation - I now have a muscle in my arch which means I don't. If your worried about hurting from standing on stones etc then don't - you'll default to running lighter and on the front of your foot - I had stepped on stones/rocks and yes you feel it but actually its like the feeling when you have normal trainers on. I run trail mostly and in the heat its been as hard as concrete - I think I still need to build up more miles on concrete as thats a bit more impactful on your legs. I am never going back to normal trainers these are brilliant.

Doch kein reiner Hallenschuh
