It's the IOPS, if you don't know what that is, save your money. Also great for where you want extreme durability, as in building a budget zfs array. There are smaller, cheaper 16gb optane memory drives that can really boost lower end laptop i/o, either as caching drives where supported, or as a scratch drive for some apps like video editing. The 800p is a great choice for a dedicated boot drive too, or for use with bcache on a frequently written data drive in linux. Or anywhere you want or need extreme durability. Still a specialist product, but you can get used 16gb sticks for almost nothing to experiment with! The 800p is expensive, but 3D X-point is going to supplant flash in most solid state performance scenarios.

I'm using this for my OS drive, bought it for the endurance not the speed. This replaced a Samsung nvme ssd. I don't notice any difference in responsiveness, they're both super fast. Works in Windows 7 x64 after installing hotfix. If you need the hotfix, do a google search for "477475_intl_x64_zip". Microsoft no longer supports the download for this hotfix.

I purchased this drive to use as Optane acceleration drive for my mechanical 4TB drive. It was detected on boot up. I decided to stick with Windows 7, so the optane features does not work. I now use this drive as a space for the windows swap file and my small GOG game library. Drive is solid fast and system is very responsive.

I bought this SSD for use with MBP15, as a coding workspace and carry a VM. With a JMS583 enclosure the R/W speed is limited to 950/650, but it is consistent regardless of how many data stored inside. The price per GB is one big issue of this product, at similar price I can get an Intel 660p 2TB. But when it comes to responsiveness, this drive is my first choice.

This was part of my laptop upgrade. I added this, an SSD, and I doubled the RAM. My laptop wakes in about 2-3 seconds.

I'm using this as a fast, transparent cache in front of a very big spinning hard disk (mainly because I'm sick of managing files across volumes manually). It was easy to set up, and anecdotally I'm getting SSD class performance for my use cases, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Purchased this as a boot drive for my pfsense firewall. It is using ZFS. So far it's been quite reliable and consistent with performance.

Very fast 4K read and writes, great for OS partition, where random latency matters the most.

This product worked great but bricked shortly after the possible return period. BIOS no longer recognize it. Beware!

Good ssd but for the price it is hard to recommend to all.Benchmark photo speaks for itself.Would you notice the diffence? for majority of the users no.Only for the applications that are sensitive to low latency and fast read spead in 4kQD1.
