Gripping
A truly gripping read, full of twists and turns and of course the final unexpected twist at the very end. A book you just cannot put down

Not sure about this one !!
Usually Love Helen's writing but really not sure about this one. Firstly the plot - seemed somewhat disjointed - nothing flowed together as in her other books. Then the characters - weird is the word that springs to mind. Chloe - didn't take to her at all. Hedley Sharpe - bit ineffectual. Brenda - very annoying. None of the other characters stood out for me either. All in all a big disappointment. Hopefully if the series continues it will improve - fingers crossed.

"More twists than a corkscrew"
A complex plot with familiar characters. The well-worn detective and his youthful sidekick keep finding plausible suspects for a string of murders, but there's always a piece of the jigsaw that doesn't quite fit. The villains are as evil as you'd want them to be, but I couldn't stretch to that fifth star because there were a few plot weaknesses that needed a long-forgotten memory to prevent Chloe from careering down a blind alley.

A great read.
Helen Currant is a good story teller. This book is very fast pace side I like the quick chapters and the way that helps keep the story going many extra chapters read because you say "just one more"

Pretty good read!
Somewhat predictable outcome, but entertaining. Not too long a book, so done in a reasonable time. For fans of British procedurals.

A good read
Thought Hedley was a great character. Enjoyed the story, although I did feel his partner, Stuart's, insistence on his view of the suspect, was a bit much after a while. Still enjoyed it

Why do I have the feeling I read this book before?
A PF Ford book of the Slater and Norman Mysteries. And then it goes to Norman, the heavy set one, having that heart attack and his apartment is set on fire in an attempt to murder him. I won't go into any more detail because I don't want to ruin what's coming up for anyone if that is what is in fact happening here somehow. Is this for real or am I losing my mind?

Such an Enjoyable Read.
Such an enjoyable read by Helen Durrant, I loved it.The storyline had so much going on, you foget the time and keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. It didn't slow down until all was discovered right at the end.The characters were well placed, with Superintendent Hedley Sharpe, and his off sider, Stuart...or " laddie", as he calls him never seeing eye to eye, until the end..or does stuart?A Remarkable read. easy read
Quick and easy read. Still unsure why the title refers to 2 graves my calculations counted far more than that.
