Affordable 2hp pool circulating pump.
Very affordable 2hp pool circulating pump. Arrived well-packaged ahead of schedule, with all accessories and a user manual. 220 V electrical hookup was simple with clear directions provided. My suggestions on including a wiring diagram of the 120-240 volt switch were sent to seller, as I initially had electrical hookup questions which seller promptly responded with a picture and perfect guidance. This motor is very quiet and seems much more more powerful than my old 1hp Hayward pump, which died after 8 years. The inluded 1 1/2” plumbing adapters fit my American PVC pipes perfectly. In fact the seller happily provided me 2 extra 1 1/2 “ adapters for free on request. This Chinese pump seems high quality, does not leak, is very quiet, and seems quite powerful at 1/2 to 1/4th the price of a high end American circulation pump. An excellent deal.Addendum: While this powerful pump worked perfectly in circulation mode, in vacuum mode its strong vacuum caused water trap cavitation and priming loss when used with my underground pool’s small (1 1/2”) diameter plumbing system. This was not due to any leakage or fault in the pump. The supplier kindly (and immediately) helped me diagnose this problem and then resolve it completely by accepting prompt return of my SINGLE speed, dual VOLTAGE model, with replacement by their identical, dual SPEED model. The dual speed replacement pump can be used in vacuum mode at the slower speed with no loss of priming.Overall, this a superb, powerful pump, and its suppliers were invaluable with their immediate and kind support and assistance. .

Cost-effective and works great
I bought this pump for a temp replacement while I rebuild my Pentair 2 speed pump. I hooked up this 2 speed 2.5 hp yesterday and it powers my waterfall and solar heater at same time on high and low speed. I used aftermarket 2 inch unions and lubricated o rings, used heavy Teflon tape on threads staying away 1/4 inch from o rings. I used insulated flag female terminal connectors (wiring diagram in box), cover screws hard to put back so use 1/4" nut driver. Switch on pump will pop out if not carefully but works good when seated. Fill pump basket and suction line with water and be sure to ground lug on pump with #10 or larger copper separately from wiring ground. Also be sure to check motor/wet pump bolts to be sure they are tight but don't over tighten. This pump started to prime on low speed but switched to hi speed and everything started flowing great. If this pump last 3 or 4 years it will be well worth the reasonable cost and I might just buy another backup and save money not rebuilding the Pentair pump. Time will tell just go over everything on pump, take your time and give a quarter turn on unions and bolts when finished.

doesn't flow enough water to run pool sweep
This is a 2 speed motor which I wanted, however, even on high speed it isn't enough to run my pool sweeper! I was initially impressed with how quiet it was, until I found that is because it doesn't flow enough water to run sweep! Save your money and buy a higher flow rate/horsepower unit. FYI I don't have a large pool either, only 12000 gal.update: I explained above situation to the seller, and they were very good about stating that they would accept it for return with full refund, so no complaints there!

What’d the catch?
The media could not be loaded. It takes a lot for me to give a product, five stars, and if I’m being completely honest, I was not expecting much from this pump; but boy with I wrong. The instructions were straightforward and installation was a breeze. You do have to know just a little about electrical and plumbing, but nothing you cannot figure out, especially with YouTube these days. The pump is way quieter than the original pump it replaced and it moves the water 10 times more than the $1200 pump it replaced. I cannot attest to the longevity of the pump, but I did get the extended warranty just in case. My only advice is DO NOT use the black coupling set that comes with the pump because they are garbage and WILL snap off!!!!! I did not take a star off for this because, other reviews had already mentioned it, so I knew what I was getting. Just imagine that that coupling does not come with the pump and you would be more than happy with it. 100% worth the money.

Had to Replace after 2 Months - Seller Honored Warranty
The media could not be loaded. Originally, I was pretty over the moon for this pump. It was less than 1/10 of the cost of the pump that my pool company recommended. It radically transformed the health of my pool. Exceptional suction, automatic priming, and quiet. That was until this past weekend...I looked out my back window to notice that the water wasn't moving, so I went out to check the pump. It was off, which was strange. It was scheduled to be on for another 5 hours or so. Upon inspection, it was also very hot. Somehow, the pump must have unprimed, despite the fact that the water level was good and the lines were clear. The pump had also tripped the main breaker. I let it cool off and tried to get it restarted, but I was saddened to find that the pump now pours water out of the bottom, as if there's virtually nothing stopping it from leaking out. There appears to now be a sizeable gap between the motor itself and the pump housing, which is likely the cause of the unpriming and the overheating. The pump no longer works at all. It's just a hunk of metal and plastic now.I contacted the company and asked for support, a warranty, or a replacement, and not only did they not respond, but they never even opened my email. I guess you get what you pay for. I will update this review if/when I receive a response from the company.UPDATE: The company responded after about a week, and asked for photos of the broken pump. Upon receipt, they sent me a new one within 72 hours, which I have now installed, and it's working well. The design flaw appears to be a rubber fitting around the impeller shaft. In my (non-engineering) opinion, the motor starts too abruptly and with so much torque that it has a tendency to rip that rubber fitting, causing the pump to leak the necessary water to cool the pump. My suggestion for avoiding this is to start the pump on Low and then quickly flip it over to High once the shaft has already started spinning.
