this little tool made me fall in love with my original HiyaHiya I/C set
I bought my first set of HiyaHiya I/Cs YEARS ago. I used them rarely because of their tendency to loosen and come unattached during knitting. But this little set of grippers and connectors (standard issue with current sets of HiyaHiya I/Cs) has made a huge difference. An investment of just a few dollars has made my set of HiyaHiyas very useful to me now. If you have older HiyaHiya I/Cs or have lost your own gripper & connectors, spend a few dollars to get this little set. You only need one set of grippers per needle set case. I don't know how many cable joiners you'll need but I don't use those very often.----update 12 March 2015I don't know how it happened but my original review (above) got attached to the wrong product. My review above was for a set of grippers + cable joiners. The grippers are essential for tightening HiyaHiya I/Cs properly & sufficiently. The cable joiners cleverly let you make cables in a length you want or need....I **DO** have a comment about the adapters that let you put a large (fat diameter) needle onto a cable meant for small (thin diameter) needles. I hope Julian sees it because it answers that customer's question.Only complaint: if you use a large needle with the adapters on a short cable (16"), the needle you make is too long for the cable to PURL easily in the round. You can KNIT in the round with some ease but purling is very hard, slow, and tedious. A simple remedy is to buy the 16 inch large cable so you don't need to use the large-to-small adapters. The adapters themselves work just fine, except that they add too much length to the needle to work well for purling in the round with a 16 inch cable.Maybe you think you don't purl in the round on a 16" needle. But if you're making a hat with ribbing you do. Or if you are doing garter stitch in the round you do.It's not impossible to purl in the round on a 16" cable using these adapters. It's merely unwieldy and slow. If it happened to be your very first experience with Hiya Hiya I/C needles it would give you a false and unfortunate first impression.

No grips!
I received 2 connectors but there were no grips in the package. Would have been nice to have...

hiya hiya stuff is amazind
i never use anything but hiya hiya needles and cables anymore. these are the best on the market as far as i am concerned. the only thing i can immagin would not work as well is if the yarn being used has a lot of silk in it and the needles are too smooth for the yarn. some yarns need a bit more friction with the needles for the project.

Should have been included in the set
Disappointed I had to buy these seperately from the interchangable set. They require finagling the get the join removed from the needles but they're a necessity to knit sweatera, shawls, etc.

Perfection!
I needed longer cables and rather than just buy a cable I searched and found the connectors. Exactly what I needed

Fixed issue of disconnecting needles
I used the blue grips to tighten my hiya hiya sharp interchangable needles, and they work great now! There was an issue before where the needle would untwist from the cable in the middle of a row, but I haven't had that issue since using the grips.

Best ever for lace knitting
Great needles for lace. The points are sharper than the Addi lace point needles. Just what I wanted. The jointing with the cord is easy and the joint is smooth. Will recommend to all my friends

wish you could get the connectors without the grips...
The connectors are great, but I wish you could buy more connectors without the grips. I have plenty of grips, but the connectors are so tiny that i do sometimes lose them. It would be nice to be able to buy 4 or 5 connectors. Seems wasteful to have to buy more rubber grips along with them.
