Fletch Lives (Special Edition) [Blu-ray]

A lot of mixed reviews on this one. I thought the story was good. 1st was better but this was a solid story and the Chevy’s comedy was there throughout.

IN FLETCH LIVES, CHASE STARS WITH CLEAVON LITTLE, THE ALSO MAGNIFICENT COMIC, IN A NEWSPAPER STORY THAT INVOLVES HISINHERITANCE OF A HUGE SOUTHERN MANSION.........COMPLETELY DILAPIDATED. LITTLE PLAYS THE MANAGER OF THE HOUSE BUT OF COURSE IS MUCH MORE, AS YOU WILL SEE. EXPECT FLETCH TO ADORN A HALF DOZEN CHARACTERS AND COSTUMES AS WELL. AS HE POSES AS A TENNIS MEMBER HE MEETS A BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, UNHAPPILY MARRIED BUT HIS CHARM PREVAILS. ODDLY HER HUSBAND GOES TO PROVO, UTAH EACH WEEK AND RETURNS, OSTENSIBLY FOR BUSINESS. IT SO HAPPENS THE HUSBAND HAS A WIFE ALSO IN UTAH, AND FLETCH IS HYSTERICAL AS POINTING OUT.......HE IS EVEN COMMITTING BIGAMY IN UTAH.......THE PLOT TAKES A TWIST AS BARRELS OF TOXIC WASTE ARE BEING SMUGGLED, BUT THE ONE LINERS THAT FLETCH CONSISTENTLY PUTS OUT TO THE AUDIENCE ARE BREATHTAKING. ENJOY THIS FILM, NUMBER TWO IN THE SERIES, AND GO BACK AND SEE ......FLETCH....... THEY ARE BOTH GREAT.

Funny and exciting

OK, Fletch Lives is not as good as the original Fletch film. But that doesn't mean that it's a bad movie. Fletch seems less in-control this time, and is more accident prone to fit Chevy Chase's old schtick. But that's not bad. This is a funny movie, and it looks good too.This is a Louisiana movie. Filmed there, and it has stereotypes all over the place. Strange thing is, these stereotypes are both true and untrue, and I know because I live in Louisiana. If you love Louisiana, you definitely need to see this movie, since it's a lesser-known LA state film.Also, the DVD cover to this movie is AWFUL. The original movie poster was a great-looking "Gone with the Wind" spoof painting, which looked fabulous. That was used as the VHS cover too. And then the DVD cover looks like it was cobbled together in MS Publisher. Ugh! This movie did not deserve a cover like that, what an insult.

Haven't really watched this movie in a long time. If you loved the first Fletch, this one wasn't bad at all. Still funny, has it's moments. It's worth owning. Anything Fletch related and I'm there! I'll have a steak sandwich and a steak sandwich.
