CuisiproCherry and Olive Pitter, Stainless Steel and Plastic, Black, Locks for Compact Storage

I am very pleasantly surprised! We have a cherry tree in the garden and so had a huge glut of cherries which I wanted to be able to pit and use in pies etc. or freeze for later in the year. This cherry pitter is easy to use and really does the job! You don't need to apply too much pressure, it can easily be done with one hand and the pit just comes right out. I was able to do several kilos of cherries in a few hours. The pitter does not squish the cherries, and hardly any fruit was left on the pits. The kids liked that it seemed to 'shoot' the pits out, so they enjoyed using it as well. You can pop the cherries in at any angle, and it will still remove the pits easily. Also - considering I was using this for a lot of fruit, the shape is very good and did not hurt my hand. Very sturdy design, and easy to clean. It was worth every penny!

Fabulous little gadget. Have been looking for something like this for years to stone cherries. Works easily and efficiently. Does the job very well. You pay a little extra than others but its robust. Money well spent. Looking forward to the summer cherry season.

I have had this for 2 years now and used it intermittently. I use it mainly to take the stones out of damsons and bullace. It works brilliantly for this. I also use it for Olives, and it works for all but the very small and the very green ones. The stones are very reluctant to come away from the latter and I don't think it's a fault of this pitter. I have never used it for cherries. It's easy to clean and so far it has been very useful and robust. However now the red rubber insert (which can be removed for cleaning) has a tear in it so I don't think it will last much longer. I'd give it 5 starts if it wasn't for this. I blame the very green olives for causing the tear and I advise you not to try it with them. I hope Cuisipro will be able to replace the insert.

Received my olive/cherry pitter this morning, and pitted my olives for my salad. It's easy to use and does a great job taking out the stones, and leaves the fruit intact, not in pieces. I particularly like the silicone cup that holds the olives/cherries. A much better product than the last one I had. I'd highly recommend this product and the bonus being, it has a 25 year warranty.

Bought this because I make a lot of cherry daiquiri's and the house didn't even have one of those crummy de-stoner you find on garlic presses; indeed, no-one in the house believed cherry stoners existed when I said I was going to buy one.Anyway. This unit is large and well built, and fits comfortably in the hand. The action is smooth and - most importantly - "misfires" practically never happen; the lip makes the cherry easy to load, the prongy bit always pops out the stone with a minimal amount of fruit being wasted, and there's a bare minimum of cherry juice flying about all over the place.Well worth the (tiny) premium over other inferior-looking stoners.

This was a present for our Australian family, who are waiting for the cherry season with baited breath. It looks hopeful.

Faced with dilema of making my first cherry clafoutis from Raymond Blancs  Kitchen Secrets  I needed to make a decision; try and stone a half kilo of cherrie by hand with a knife or invest £9 in a tool. The rest, as they say, is history! With the added bonus being able now to pitt olives rather than roll them round in ones mouth trying to part the flesh from its stone whilst try to look dignified. Easy to clean, easy to use and easy to store (there is a plate at the back, when pulled, that allows you keep the pitter shut when not in use) - buy one.

I'll be honest. I have never owned a cherry pitter before. But since I love to snack on seasonal cherries, I order this one to try. It works really well and is easy to figure out. Using this to remove the pits makes snacking on cherries much less messy and avoids the stained fingers.
