Highly visible. Plastic. The BLACK color is fading after FOUR months and 100 games.
I'm not thrilled with plastic over wood tiles, BUT, these are highly visible in any light, they haven't faded (I play a complete game of Scrabble daily) and when we drop them on the floor (which is frequent!) we can find them without a hitch. I like that the letters are BLACK instead of white like on some other color combinations. further, they are very easy on the eyes since the plain font used is very bold (thick).*** JUNE 12, 2015 UPDATE! Okay it's been just over four months since I've had these tiles. GOOD: The color and integrity of the tiles has held up. BAD: The black lettering is fading. To be fair, I play almost daily, so we'll conservatively say I've played (with one other player only) at least 100 times. The first thing (and an important one) is the point values on the lower right of the tiles. They are still visible, but lighter and I think not long from now, will be indistinguishable on some tiles. The entire reason for these tiles was the high visibility. While the tiles themselves are holding up, the paint is not. I think I will need to replace them again in a month or so. Most users will not play as frequently ... maybe we're even rough on them? I tend to hold tiles and roll them around on my fingers if I'm going to skip a turn and throw in a letter. Casual once-a-week (or month) players would not likely have this issue, so read this in context!

Fine, but could be better.
As advertised, the printed letters are completely flat and can't be felt. I wish that the tiles were slightly rectangular instead of square, as Scrabble tiles are taller than they are wide. These fit on the slots of my deluxe scrabble slots well width-wise, but they slide up and down. If you hold it up to a light, you can also see the letter through the plastic. Under normal playing conditions, I doubt this would matter, but nonetheless, the tiles are not perfectly opaque.Overall, these are lightweight and functional, but would be made better if they were more tailored to Scrabble board dimensions.

Perfect for more serious players
I play competitive Scrabble, where it is important to have tiles that:- Won't break- Can't be "brailled" - by that, I mean, you can't run your fingers over and figure out the letter- Are distinct enough to easily seeThese are durable, smooth, and black on bright yellow - perfect for more serious players

fun way to play
Love these, have two sets. I keep them in a small drawstring bag and we take them to restaurants with us to play with my son while waiting for our food. It helps keep him from getting too impatient.

Pros and Cons
Works well with regular Scrabble boards but it's too big for the tile-lock one. Nice color. The letters are big but the numbers are a bit small and may be hard to read for those with poor vision.
