Had such high hopes and really wanted this to work but got horrible channeling each time I used this tool (4 times with the same dialed in coffee). Plus the needles don’t go deep enough on my IMS basket which is one of the shallowest baskets in my arsenal. Don’t recommend it.

Unfortunately, the tool we received didn't match our expectations. Despite arriving in perfect packaging, the needles were bent and misshapen and the entire tool seemed bent and rotating at an angle, rendering the tool less effective than anticipated. This was surprising, as the design and magnetic attachment feature suggested a high-quality, innovative product.The issue with the needles raises questions about quality control and whether we received an anomaly. The concept behind the tool, particularly the magnetic attachment for easy handling, still intrigues us. We believe that when produced to its intended quality, this could be a valuable tool for espresso enthusiasts looking for precision in their coffee preparation.

The item was well packaged and arrived in good condition. It came in a nice box and can be a great gift for coffee enthusiasts. The tool itself is well designed and fun to use. It fits well in my coffee station.

I ordered this Espresso Rotary WDT Tool from Amazon, arrived quickly in a very nice box. Out of the box I received the three piece distribution tool and a user manual. This is an identical replica of Ikape Espresso Rotary WDT tool, I think it's the exact same tool sold by StoneMortar. The tool consists of three parts, top is the distribution tool handle and needles, middle has magnets on both sides is the essentially dosing funnel and the bottom is the metal case cleans the needles with built-in brushes and keeps them safe. My workflow with this tool as follows, I grind the beans, place the center piece on top of my portafilter, pour the grounds, place the rotary tool on top of the dosing part, which adheres magnetically, distribute the coffee with several simple twists of the wooden handle and place it back to bottom cup. It distributed very evenly, and eliminated clumps instantly if I had any. It's bit pricey however gets the job done as expected. All in all this is a great tool, it has a rather large footprint, comparing to simple ones, but this one gets the job done consistently every time, takes the guesswork out of the way. You just need to make it your routine and add it to your workflow right before the leveling and tamping. I can tell the shots I pull has much less channeling at the beginning of the shot since I've been using this tool. I highly recommend it.
