Would this stop a cat from getting outside?

Certainly it will keep a cat or dog from getting through-the bottom and top are enclosed in a 1" deep channel (that you step over at the bottom) but like any screen any extraordinary force can push through.  The screen has a central  roller bar that adds strength and keeps you from accidentally walking through the door...however, It is doubtful that ANY screen will survive a cat's claws or a dog digging at it. The door is held closed by magnet catches and it can be "locked" with a small latch.

Question 2

For those who attached screen to door with Velcro or double sided tape, how wide was the strip and how long was the strip at each corner ?

I used the industrial Velcro product that is 1" wide.  My installation has been up for 4 summers, and the Velcro still functions as new, and the acrylic adhesive on the Velcro is still flexible and properly attached (seems unaffected by both high heat and moderate cold).  I used 8" strips positioned along either side (none on the top bar) positioned about every two feet starting at the top edge.  I thought I might have to add more of the Velcro but the 8" strips are sufficient for an inside mounting.  I did add a flexible sticky-back clear gasket along the sides because I thought bugs might come through the gaps between the Velcro strips.  However, the gasket soon fell off, but we still have never had a bug come through the gaps (at least that we could find).  I would be careful using too much Velcro along the sides of the screen if you want to remove the screen in the winter because it can be a bit difficult to separate the Velcro hook and pile.

Does dust pass thru the screen?

No, we like it very much.  My door was oversized so i did a small framing to get the fit right.  Take your time putting together and make sure you crank the spring so you have good tension before the final install.
