Hawkeye 1x24mm Red Dot Sights, 2 MOA Shake to Awake Compact Open Reflex Sight with Picatinny Mount Compatible with RMR Footprint

I use this as a canted secondary sight on a .223 rifle and it has held zero well so far.The sight is very small, and feels pretty solid. It's also very easy to zero and the dot is bright enough to use in bright sunshine.I can't speak to how well it'll work on a handgun because I don't have one that has an optics plate, but it works very well on a 16" rifle.

The Hawkeye 1x24mm Open Reflex Red Dot Sight works well and has significantly improved my shooting experience. The 2 MOA dot is precise, and the 10 brightness levels allow for easy adjustment in different lighting conditions. The sight is durable, and the multi-coated lenses provide a clear, wide field of view, which helps with quick target acquisition.However, the cover that comes with it is a bit loose and doesn’t stay on securely. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it would be nice if the cover fit better. It also didn't come with a manual which is a bit inconvenient. Overall, it's a solid product for the price and performs as advertised.

I've finally been able to get to the range with this a few times and it has performed very well. Due to astigmatism, I can only use red dots at closer ranges. It helps that this is a 2 MOA size dot if you want to stretch it out to longer distances. The shake awake works well and battery life is not an issue. Solidly built, mounts well, and looks great on the gun. Highly recommended.

When an optic or firearm is described as having a 2 MOA dot, it means the dot covers approximately 2 inches of the target at 100 yards. This gives shooters an idea of the level of precision they can expect from the sight.

I bought this specifically to replace the optical on my crossbow. I very much like the ability to keep both eyes open when aiming, as this is how I was taught on open sights. This allows me to see the target even when it is not quite in the area I'd like it to be, but yet be in position as well. The 2 MOA is perfect for the range I am set up for, about 10-20 yards. The dot is quite bright for daytime visibility.As for the negatives, as mentioned by another reviewer, the cover does not stay on very securely. I prefer to use my cover until I am set up so I don't have to worry about scratches. If I'm not careful, this cover will fall off on the way in. I may try to find an elastic strap of some kind to secure it into place or at least a lanyard so it doesn't get lost.Also, for me this is not important as I prefer the dot anyway, but that is the only option available. Many optics have a few different options. Red is also the only color available. But both these things are mentioned in the title.

So I have a Glock 26 and thought this would be great if I ordered a sight mount plate to put it on instead of the pickney rail mount as that rasies it to high on the weapon. Well I removed the pickeny mount and installed my dove tail mounting plate and it wont fit the standard plate. Bummed out for sure. Sent message to manufacturer but havent heard back, no surprise. Still no response as of 5/21/24.

Purchased for turkey hunting shotgun.Let me start with this is a nice-looking little sight. Seems well constructed, very adjustable and easy to mount. My 1st issue, description claimed there was 10 brightness adjustments with an auto brightness function. Description has since been edited. There is no auto function, it was explained to me from seller that the sight will return to previous setting with shake awake.2nd issue, the protective cover that was shipped with sight was too loose, falls off sight with very little effort! I require a cover that will securely protect lens while traversing the Turkey woods.Customer service was contacted over loose-fitting cover concerns and informed me they do not have any extra covers they could send me!On a possitive note, sight has held zero after initial sighting in on 20 gauge shotgun.
