One of the sweetest books I’ve ever read... just wow
Why, oh why did I put off reading this book? I read the blurb and wasn’t sure... But this book is just so fantastically sweet and beautiful it’s become an instant favourite. The main characters, Kit and Lara are so utterly made for each other that you can’t help but want them to be together. They are both dealing with their own hardships but together they bring each other a peace and sense of fulfilment.Lara was born blind. She has never had the gift of sight, but that has never stopped her living a full life. With all other senses so highly tuned she can see far more with her imagination that we could ever see with our eyes. She’s brave, adventurous, intelligent and confident. Her world may be dark, but heart is full of the brightest light.Kit Carson is the reclusive and mysterious loner that resides in a remote house in the forest. His only company is his trusted wolves that he befriended over the five years he has lived in Old Mans Creek. A military veteran, he is disfigured and living with the horrors that losing his comrades has shown him. He hates people staring at his face and wishes for a quiet life away from the questioning eyes of others. So, he advertises the position for a Blind Reader for company and communication he never for one minute thinks he will be opening his house and his secluded world to the most beautiful and perfect woman he has ever seen.Instantly he can feel the connection. Not just in the way she looks but her whole demeanour. She has an intoxicating countenance. As soon as he sees her, he knows he’s in trouble. The moment they start to talk, despite his guarded reluctance to converse with her, he cannot help but be completely in awe of Lara’s adaptability and acceptance of her blindness. The ease at which she deals with her new surroundings is inspirational and Kit cannot help but feel an overwhelming admiration for his new friend. The more they get to know each other the closer they become, and the more enamoured Kit becomes with this phenomenal young woman. When even his wolves approach her with complete acceptance, he knows that Lara is special. Dare he let her into his heart when he has already committed himself to being alone... and for good reason? So when the weather snows them in at his remote house they are suddenly are thrown together in a situation whereby they are sleeping under the same roof. Finally they give into temptation and kiss, and it’s an incredibly sensual moment, but Kit pulls away from it going further, much to Lara’s disappointment. As she goes off to bed, Kit is left kicking himself. He’s trying to convince his heart that his head has made the right decision, but when she appears at the top of his stairs asking why he stopped her advances he can’t deny what his body wants any longer. He wants her... and consequences be damned. There’s a reason he daren’t get involved. He knows after everything she’s lost, he could break her even more, but he can’t stay away. He loves her too much.Their coming together leads to such a wonderful coupling and the love they have for each other deepens.... but not everyone is happy about their union. The gossiping villagers soon put their venom to work and when word spreads that they are spending more time together it causes Sawyer Buchanan (or is it Bennett? Check page 185!!) a dangerous, jealous old crush from Lara’s past to become riled and unexpectedly possessive. Even though he’s engaged to be married to the daughter of a multi millionaire, he stakes his claim on Lara, much to her utter annoyance. After making threats towards Kit he leaves.Things take a sinister turn when one of Sawyers beloved wolves is shot and killed with an expensive hunting arrow. Kit is heartbroken. It’s senseless and an obvious attack on him. Lara has her suspicions but she needs to be sure before she tells Kit. He knows this is a direct response to their relationship. However, there’s always a twist in Georgia’s stories and suddenly it’s thrown in that Kit is not all that he seems to be. He’s omitted to tell Lara the truth and when it comes out unexpectedly, he faces losing her... for good. He has to leave and fully understands that she can’t accept what she is faced with, but he hopes her feelings for him will help her to forgive him. As he leaves... she is heartbroken. Her best friend makes her see that breaking up with him would be the worst decision she ever makes she heads back to his house to await his return with his wolves... but in doing so, she has placed herself in danger. Will she be taken from him before Kit returns? An absolutely amazing story. The way Georgia describes Lara’s world is just so beautiful and it really makes you fall in love with her character. The way Kit admires and loves her is just so awe inspiring that these have become one of my favourite fictional couples. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! Well done again Georgia.

Refreshing main characters
This is the 1st book I've read by this author plan to read many more. Was so refreshing to have main characters that weren't perfection, but were still funny sexy, and strong. Plot was fantastic, ranging from amazing highs to devastating dark lows. Only one big issue, the author killed off a wolf. A baby wolf at that. Bad, bad author. People ok, furbabies nooooooo.

Good, but 50%?
I really liked the relationship they shared. The hero was struggling with his past, but not in a way that pushed her away. I've read a lot of romances about soldiers and his past is always used as a problem in their relationship, or a reason for him to treat her poorly and then use it as an excuse for her to forgive him after he's hurt her deeply, like, a dozen times. I liked that there was none of that here. Yes, at first he was a little stand offish. He was used to his life with his wolves, but I liked how easily she slipped into his life. And I liked that he wanted to experience things as she would. Normally if a character is blind it's a problem and he's constantly describing things, I liked that there was description, but also he took it upon himself too experience what she went through.I liked the heroine and during the inevitable relationship issue, I totally got where she was coming from. I hurt for him, but I cried for her. I understood why she reacted the way she did and why she was so hurt. If anything that's the one thing that I didn't like, how easy it was fixed. I felt like it was something so big for her, to have one five minute conversation with her friend and suddenly have a lightbulb moment... I wasn't buying it. I want long drawn out conversations, I want to feel as if I'm with her when she makes her decision and I just wasn't.Other than that, great story and I'm glad I read it. Didn't like that it's 50% of the entire book. I didn't care about the second story, I read it, thought 'I would never pay for this' and that annoyed me which is why it didn't get five stars. I settled in for a day of reading and it was over in a couple of hours. Not okay.

Blind reader....
I have read the majority of Georgia's books and loved them all and this was no exception!I'll admit, the blurb and then the first part when he advertises for a blind reader seem a bit odd or farfetched HOWEVER... It's bloody brilliant! This is the story of Lara & Kit...Lara is blind and has been her entire life but she doesn't let it affect her, she still goes out, works, has friends and I love the way it shows and explains her heightened other senses. Kit is ex-soldier living on the edge of the town surrounded by wolves and the town make their own opinion of him and it it isn't a very nice one! And when we get to know him - Jees everyone will want a Kit of their own!!Lara can tame Kit without even trying, they just connect and it evolves from there really. The story was sweet yet steamy, it was nice yet nasty, it was calming yet exciting, it has twists and turns and can be very emotional, it was everything you could want in a book and I loved it.Definitely recommend that you read this, even if you aren't a fan, and if you are - you won't be disappointedMassive 5 stars.
