Works perfectly with Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ 320GB.
Works perfectly to fully control a Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ 320GB HD Digital TV Twin Tuner HD Recorder in two rooms over 23.5 metres of joined up HDMI cables and a powered HDMI splitter.Neoteck HDMI Splitter 2 Way 2160P.Two CSL - 10m Ultra HD 4k HDMI cable (High Speed) with Ethernet | ARC and CEC.One CSL - 3m Ultra HD HDMI cable (High Speed) with Ethernet | ARC and CEC.One CSL - 0.5m Ultra HD HDMI cable (High Speed) with Ethernet | ARC and CEC.One AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI 2.0 Cable - 1.8m.Cable Matters (2 Pack) Gold-Plated High Speed HDMI Female Coupler.Plugging the IR transmitter connector into the HDMI block and directly into the back of the Humax meant I would have to leave out the ethernet cable to the Humax. Out of curiosity, I changed the location of the HDMI block to the end of the long (20 m joined) HDMI cable just before it went into the splitter and it worked perfectly. The Humax boxes are known to have issues with receiving the signal from the remote. This is overcome by either leaving the front flap on the Humax down or alternatively by removing the coating off the small circular window directly in front of the eye. Position is obvious (just to left of display window) once you drop the front flap. I thought the kit was not working properly before I found this tip after an internet search.I have the 0.5 m cable joining the back of the Humax to the splitter. One end of the two joined 10 m cables (coupled somewhere in the loft with one of the couplers) is connected to the back of the splitter via the HDMI block from this kit. The Amazon Basics cable runs from the splitter to my LG plasma. At the other end of the 20 m cable, I used the other coupler to add the 3 m CSL cable to reach a Samsung 40 dumb TV.I had worries that the mix and match with cables and couplers would prevent everything working, especially with the overall distance. It all works perfectly on both sets regarding picture, sound and full control of the Humax box in both rooms.

This is really an amazing but cheap product
Before purchasing this, i bought few others but they did not work. This is really an amazing but cheap product.I have 1 skype box in my lounge area, and I extended this to my bedroom where I have another Computer Monitor. I used a device from Aukey to split my HDMI outpout from SKYBOX into two; one for my TV which is in the lounge, and the other one for my bedroom. This whole setup is done via HDMI cable. I wanted in my bedroom to use Sky Remote to change channels etc. I installed this device easily. I use the extenders to plug the HDMI, and I put the other end infront of my skybox to transmit the remote signals stright into my Sky Box. Simple to install and it worked like a charm. This is really a cheap product and it does the job perfectly well. My only cons is, it has a wrong distance limit mentioned. I have to use it within 8-10 meters away and the signal won't reach if I go further away. Overall a good product and serves well with such a price. I will recommend this product to anyone.

Take your time installing it .
Did not work at first , me being to impatient . Was ready to send it back and read some more comments on Amazon about it . Found a comment that seemed to do one connection different . Changed it to suit and it is working perfectly now 😊.

Good for simple use cases but poor physical design limits options
It works in a basic one to one set up - i.e. one source directly plugged in to TV, however due to the IR cable plugging in to the HDMI adaptor at 90 degrees to the left, it means you cannot use it in an HDMI input which already has an HDMI cable in the socket next to it as there is no space for the IR cable to fit. You could need to use a male to female HDMI extender to get enough space. There is a switch on the device that switches between CEC and IR, so if you want CEC then it looks like you lose IR and vice versa as it uses the CEC channel to send the signal. Not a problem for me as i don't use CEC, but if you like your TV or device to auto switch to the right input then this will not allow that whilst using the IR extender function from what I can see.

Excellent product
This little device turned out to be really good. It came packaged safe and secure in Amazon packaging. It was also delivered very quickly. This device has an infra red signal receiver and a second component which is a infra red signal emitter. The receiver connects to the HDMI connector that goes to the TV. The emitter component connects to the other end of the HDMI cable which in our case goes to the sky box. The infra red signal from the remote can now be sent via the receiver/emitter combination. This has meant we can now move the sky box to a discrete location where the remote IR signal normally wouldn't go.This is a simple product and really easy to set up. It's also reasonably inexpensive, but produces great results.

Worth the gamble
Bought this for my sky box on a 30 metre cable. Couldn't get it to work straight away which I assumed was down to the length of the cable but was just a loose connection on the transmitter. You do lose CEC but we only used it for turning the TV on or switching the HDMI input back to the sky box.

Better than running another cable
Better than running another cable? Maybe.Easier than running another cable? Definitely.Truth be told depends what you want to use it for, if you just want to extent 1 IR source to another room (Virgin TV in this case) then it's perfect, if you have a dual Output AV and want to forward two items, this will removed CEC so maybe not the best option for you (you can flick a switch to go back to CEC, but it has to be done both ends so too much of a hassle), I run two long cables, 1 with this on for Virgin Media and another for my CEC items.

Does the job but disappointingly gets power from the source ...
Does the job but disappointingly gets power from the source. So when my DVD player is off I physically have to go to it as using the remote via the extender doesn't work until it's on. If it did I'd rate this a 5.
