I'm gonna start with saying for the price this is probably the best value substrate moss on amazon, however, there is an incredible amount of dust, which can be bad for your hamsters health. When I was breaking up the brick it filled my whole 40 gallon terrarium with a visible dust, that hung in the air and I had to wait an hour before returning my hamsters to the cage. Haven't noticed any yet, but with how dirty the moss is, I wouldn't be too surprised if there's also mites or bugs in the mix as well. I would recommend freezing or baking the moss before adding it to your cage either way, but there's not much you can do about the dust. Overall great value but if you're gonna label it as being for hamsters, it needs to be significantly cleaner!

When I first ordered this product I was scared after reading the reviews but when it came I realized that everyone weighting those reviews have probably never touched real moss. It’s not plasticy at all and is very natural. Only reason it’s not a five star is because of the overwhelming dirt smell but even that dose go away after acouple of hours
