Viable alternative to spendy, faulty OEM's
Don't know about you, but I'm tired of the original BOSCH batteries in this class. I've had them die in a year or so. We're talking the hot to trot CORE series. Not because the cells fail, but the circuitry that communicates with the charger. Tried some hacks shown on YT. You can kickstart/recover the small BAT 400 series, and they'll often come back to life. Tried the same with these big dogs, but something about the electronics makes the charger act like nothing's plugged in, and I am unable to kick start them back to life like the smaller ones. I have over a dozen Bosch tools, so several different vintages of chargers. No dice. I've lost one of these and several BAT-400's just in the last couple years, and it's not cool, as I've got some batteries dating back well over a decade, in my pro cabinet shop. Still solid runners. They clearly can do better.Called CS at Bosch, as they warranted a couple BAT 414's with just a phone call a couple years ago. Fast fwd to 2024: NOPE! Moved to CS India, need copies of original paperwork, receipt, photos of battery, blah blah. You've been warned. Really, Bosch? Over $100 for a battery that appears to have chronic circuitry issues? No battery = no tool, and given the pile of Bosch I have, I'm stuck. So, here's this knockoff. I bought one here about 3 years ago under the Maisone brand name. Cannot find it available here any longer. Well, this new comer had same lettering on the side, other than brand name. Mind says: probably the same factory, it's been great for years, drop a couple 20's, you'll probably be good. And so far (about a month) this thing is just great. These things are strong runners! Comparing a similar amp hour rated Bosch fresh out of the charger, you can tell, this one's spinning that drill motor even stronger than the OEM.Very happy with this purchase. Buy with confidence.
