Excellent Dehumidifier for Large Safes!!! The 36-inch model is quite long so make sure you are a large safe. I also found their "mounting" brackets - just a couple cheap plastic holders to be useless but I couldn't mount the unit on my safe floor anyways because it got in the way of the door / contents. The solultion? I have this unit hanging vertically on the inside right corner. It fits perfectly there and is easily supported by some ammo (or anything else that weighs about 5 pounds+) on the upper shelves of the safe. Before buying a 70 pint / day Dehumidifier, the unfinished basement room where my safe is located was running about 60-70% humidity during the summer and the inside of the safe was near 50% even with various rechargable units and packets. Now humidity in the safe runs steadily near 20% and never exceeds 30%. It's true that all this unit does is procude enough heat to thwart moisture, but apparently that's all it takes!! Regarding the "heat," I just make sure the rod is free standing and not touching anything. It's not going to burn your arm off but you wouldn't want to to grab it with both hands either. As long as its not directly touching your valuables or the interior of a non-metal safe you are good to go. So happy I bought this, you will be too!!!PS for those interested, the dehumidifier I bought from Amazon is the "hOmeLabs 9 Gallon (70 Pint) Dehumidifier Energy Star Safe Mid Size Portable Dehumidifiers for Basements Large Rooms up to 4000 Sq Ft with Fan Wheels and Drain Hose Outlet to Remove Odor and Allergens" - I LOVE IT!!! Had a plumber hook it up for continuous running with no emptying buckets - unit works great!

Bought the 24 inch for my 48 gun safe. Easy plug and play sort of deal. Fits great along the bottom of the safe and seems to be doing its job.

The media could not be loaded. Easy to install. Warm to the touch in 10 minutes. Would buy again. We'll see how good the longevity is.

I have used these rods for years. I have one in every safe at my house as well as my Dad’s. They have held a consistent temperature (70-72 degrees) in the safe and keeps the humidity at a perfect level (around 40%).

Exactly as advertised. I was worried about the size of safe that I have compared to the size of area that this can heat so I contacted the manufacturer. They were quick to answer and gave me the go ahead to use it. Haven't regretted this purchase for a second

This product works really well to maintain humidity and temperature levels in a safe. If you have the space for this on your safe floor I highly recommend it. I have owned many sizes of these rods to combat my safe humidity levels and from my experiences I would conclude that the larger the rod that you can fit in your safe, the better it will work.

This doesn't in itself dehumidify anything, it simply warms the air and creates a convection current. It also by warming the enviroment in theory prevents condensation on otherwise cold surfaces. I use it in conjunction with silica gel based dehumidifier and it has held my safe at a constant 42-43% humidity after a few days to stabilize.

Produces some heat to keep my gun cabinet dry .

We use it to reduce the humidity on the piano. You have to be a bit creative with where you will place it but after few days of use the piano was slowly started to work properly again
