I have yet to make the transition to a powered all in one brass prep center, and still prep my cases one at a time by hand. and I switched to this VLD chamfer tool for loading nickel plated rifle brass..The old 45* chamfer tool wasn't working and the nickel brass would shave jacket material from the bullets..This 22* chamfer from this tool solved the problem..I also use it on regular brass and very pleased with the results. It's easy on the wrist and hands, a far better option than the little chamfer & debur tool that doesn't have a handle..This is an aggressive cutter, and only requires a little bit of pressure and a just a few twists to get the case neck ready to load..Not just VLD bullets, but all bullets start easier and almost zero chance of crushing a shoulder or damaging a case mouth with hard to start bullets. The chamfer it cuts is smooth and uniform. The handle is well made and comfortable to use, and other brass prep attachments screw on with ease. Pair this with the Lyman outside chamfer tool and your brass prep will go faster with great results and your hands and wrists will thank you. As usual the item shipped and was received quickly.

This is a high quality tool that works very well as designed, using the comfortable and ergonomic plastic handle, and is worthy of a five star rating on those merits alone, but this tool really shines when mounted in a powered multi-station case prep tool like the RCBS Case Prep Center. It chamfers case necks very quickly, and the more gradual taper on the VLD chamfering tool is great for not only avoiding scratches on very precise (and expensive) precision long range bullets, it's also great for seating cast lead bullets, including powder coated cast lead bullets. The gradual taper prevents bullet base shaving. I wish Lyman made similar high quality low maintenance tools that trim, chamfer and deburr in one tool, even though such a tool would need to be used in a machine that controlled the trim length. All of the 3-in-1 case neck tools I've seen from the big reloading manufacturers use designs that are expensive, difficult to adjust, or jam with chips. Barring that, it'd be nice if Lyman offered this tool without the handle for $1 to $2 less. I'm getting a collection of these handles that I don't use because I use the case prep center to process brass by the hundreds or thousands.The Lyman VLD Inside Chamfer Tool can be seen in the lower right (station #2) of the picture I uploaded.

This inside deburr tool is great. The handle is just the right length and thickness. Not too big or too small. Can use this tool with little fatigue. The 22 degree cutting angle is indeed better than the other angles offered by competitors..Also the cutting steel bit is removable from the handle and can be put into my drill press for hands free dedurring. All in all a well thought out tool.

Replaced the reamer i had on my Frankfort Arsenal case prep center. Much better than the the Frankfort supplied one which chattered

Just what I needed to remove the primer crimp.

i bought this to remove a small lip on the inside mouth of some 300 AAC blackout that i bought that was made from LC 5.56 brass. It is smaller than it appears in the picture but it works fine. It is difficult to put too much of a chamfer on the inside of the case mouth. As the chamfer gets bigger it takes more and more force to enlarge it. Just a little force makes a nice surfaces.

Was originally scraping copper from long copper solids during seating. This reamer solved the issue.

Had this on my wishlist for over a year before I finally broke down and bought it. Then, after the first use, I kicked myself for not getting it sooner. MUCH easier on the hands and fingers than the Lee chamfer/debur tool, and it cuts much faster. Used in conjunction with the outside debur tool, and my case prep sessions just got significantly easier, and my hands less sore.

Handle is comfortable. Cuts very quick and smooth. I do like the steeper angle better.

The handle is a little cheap but it cuts nicely.
