Product description Trans-Resveratrol has a 99% purity degree and is enriched with valuable Piper nigrum extract as a bioavailability factor. Piperine improves the absorption of natural compounds from the intestine into the blood and reduces the so-called first pass effect in the liver. This leads to a higher bioavailability of trans-resveratrol. In a study, the bioavailability of resveratrol which had been enriched with piperine was researched in animals, and 1,544% higher blood levels of resveratrol were found. The high degree of purity combined with the improved bioavailability is unique. Piperine also has a positive influence on the so-called first pass effect. Unfortunately, the buccal dosage form, in other words the absorption through the oral mucosa, e.g. by use of chewable capsules, is not practical because resveratrol is very poorly water-soluble. For 3 mg of resveratrol, approximately 100 ml of fluids are needed. Consequently, 500 mg would require more than 15 liters of fluids. Therefore Biotikon uses resveratrol in combination with Piperine.
