Hydraulic valve lifters additive - 558.64.82 - LIQUI MOLY - Contents: 300 ml -

Ive had this added this to my oil - audi a4 1.9tdi around 2months ago, ive now done over a 1000miles and now you feel and hear a reduction in noise and vibration of the tappets and engine on startup. However be patient as it works slowly with the oil and grinds away at the tappets. Will do an oil/filter change after another 1000miles allowing it to properly work.

Like the equivalent Wynn's treatment I tried before it, this product made no difference to what I took to be tappet noise in my car.

I don't normally review stuff like this but, to my amazement, it actually works! I had a couple of tappets that had got so bad that they sounded like hammers first thing in the morning and quietened down to an unpleasant tap when the engine was warm and up to pressure. The morning hammer has gone and shortly after the engine has started to get warm the noise just disappears.It did what it says (literally) on the tin!
