Exactly WHat I Was Looking For
Update:The installation of this controller is pretty straight forward. I installed it for use with a new Hunter ceiling fan. I had originally planed on using a smart wall controller but would have needed to run another hot wire to separate the fan from the light. In my house that was not possible without ripping out a bunch of sheet rock which would not be worth the effort. I read up on a lot of similar controllers to this one that mount in the fan housing and use the original house wiring. Found none of them had a dimming function for the lights, which I really wanted. The others just had a timer function on the lights. This controller has that as well as a dimming function so should work perfectly for my application. After wiring it in I tested it with the included RF remote control. I worked to turn on the fan and set the speed to low, medium or high as it should. It would turn the lights on but did not dim them. Since this was a brand new fan, on a hunch I replaced the included LED bulbs with ones marked as dimmable. That solved that issue so dimming now works as well.At first I could not get this controller to see my WiFi and pair with. Tried everything I could think of and no go. Found a video of the setup that explained how to do this, it was also in the instructions but I missed it because the instructions were sort of out of order. To get the WiFi in the device to go into pair mode you have to power off the device either at the wall switch or breaker than turn it back on. Then within 30 seconds press and hold the fan power button on the remote for 5 seconds. At which point the device resets and the lights in the fan flash to let you know it is in paring mode. If you have a fan without lights I guess you would just assume it is in pairing mode. Then you can run the Smart Life app on your phone and add the new device once found. Just make sure your phone is set for the 2.4GHz band on you local WiFi. After finding the device the software for it is downloaded and installed into the Smart Life app and links Google home for use with Google Assistant. After setting it up in Smart Life I found that I could turn the fan on and off with voice commands and set the speed as well. I could not turn the lights on or off. It would only dim them through voice commands but not turn them on and off.I could find no way for it to turn on the lights with voice commands, For two days I tried everything until I stumbled across a setting in Google Home that listed the fan and lights as separate entities with an odd name for the lights. It was called "sunroyal fan switch_led". I told Google to turn the fan lights on using that name and low and behold the lights came on! I played with other names, most didn't work, and found one that works and makes a little more sense. "Bedroom Fan LED". So I just tell Google to turn on the "Bedroom Fan LED" and it all works. And for the fan I just tell Google to turn on "Bedroom Fan". To change the speed I just tell it to "Set Bedroom Fan to High, Medium or Low". For dimming I just tell it to "Set Bedroom Fan to 5%-100%.What a PITA, but as of now it all works as I wanted. Just have to leave the wall switch set to on and the pull chains on the fan for the lights to be on and the fan to be at full speed. Plan A with the wall controller would have been better since you could control the fan and lights from the wall switch if necessary. That is the only thing missing from the device but not a deal breaker since voice commands and the included remote both work.I had originally given this control a bad review after not being able to connect to my WiFi for use with the Google Assistant. But now I am perfectly happy with the controller and highly recommend it. Does take a bit of tech savvy to make it all work.I named my fan "Bedroom Fan" and the light control, in Google Home to "Bedroom Fan LED.Here is what works with voice commands:Hey Google turn on bedroom fan - The fan comes on at the last speed it was set and the lights do not turn on.Hey Google turn off bedroom fan - The fan turns off but the lights stay on if they were on.Hey Google set bedroom fan to low - The fan runs at low speed.Hey Google set bedroom fan to medium - The fan runs at medium speed.Hey Google set bedroom fan to high - The fan runs at high speed.Hey Google tun on bedroom fan LED - The lights turn on at whatever dim setting they were on before.Hey Google turn bedroom fan LED off - The lights turn off.Hey Google set bedroom fan to 10 percent - The lights change to 10 percent brightness.Hey Google set bedroom fan to 100 percent - The lights change to 100 percent brightness. You can set the dimming to any percentage you desire.Hopefully this helps anyone considering installing this fan controller. I do highly recommend it after figuring out how set it up.

FABULOUS! ONLY remote on Amazon that has 3 light options on remote....up, down and off.
All other remotes you have to hold dimmer button to go bright and then it will dim down. This is perfect!

Works with Hunter fan/light
We have an old Hunter fan with light and we lost the remote. This thing revives the fan with smart app based control and I can also control it using Google Home which is great. The installation is quite straight forward, only problem for me was getting a long enough ladder to reach the top of the fan. Great device to modernize your fan with light! Would recommend.

Works great!
I needed this for a ceiling fan that could be adjusted from the apartment next door. After adding this component I didn't have to worry about my fan being adjusted by anyone else again. It also didn't effect the mechanics of my fan. Quick response to power and easy to install. I'm very happy with it!

Love this product!
This is a super affordable way to make any ceiling fan a smart fan! We have an old Hunter fan that is very sturdy and well-built. It's the style you have to oil periodically and seems like it's meant to last forever. The only downside was that we wanted to control it with Alexa like all the other lights in our room. This was the solution we needed! It was simple to install. The biggest time suck was determining the crazy way this fan was wired back in the day but that is par for the course in this house and is not a reflection on the product at all. It connected with Alexa easily and we haven't had any issues with connectivity. I highly recommend it!

Easily convert a regular fan into remote controlled one
Remote installation isnt super hard but you have to be handy and know a bit of electrical. I havent tried alexa but plan on setting that up soon. Otherwise having a remote on the fan is awesome. It works great and we havent had any issue with it. Took me all but 30 mins to get it installed.
