When these wonderful HUTOU Whistles set showed up in my Amazon feed, I leapt at the chance to use lo-tech to give me a peace of mind, which is priceless-- I'm sure all of us would agree!This pack of two stainless steel whistles with lanyards and mouth grips are exactly what I needed, one set for the car in our emergency kit, and the other around my neck, natch! They are well-made, and the mouth grips were a bonus, protecting your teeth from the hard metal. Even the sound of these whistles are nice, piercing and LOUD! My hubby is still covering his ears and wincing after I tested them-- it was all that and more! Lastly, the price for two terrific whistles in a case with accessories is a true bargain. I'm a newbie to the whistle game. But I attended a class on traffic control and wanted a whistle for possible situations while assisting with event management. The instructor said the classic with a cork pea is the best. These things are nice as far as I'm concerned, weather for traffic control, coaching, emergency alerting, or letting your kids annoy your neighbors. Super loud, and great classic whistle sound.They include silicone covers for the mouth part, which seems like a good idea for comfort. Just be sure to clean it, I imagine they could collect spit and grow mold over time. I'm sure there is a good "whistle care and maintenance" manual out there somewhere, but it's pretty obvious I think.

I use this when coaching the kids rec soccer and basketball team. My 12 year old daughter uses the other when when she refs the little kids' rec games. Whistle works as it should with a loud, clear 'whistle' sound. There is a little cork ball inside... there is a plastic cap that can be blown on which can then be removed and washed which is pretty cool. This item has no issues in the quality department at all. Great product.

I recently purchased a very fancy keychain alarm device for my wife and daughter. After spending about an hour trying to figure out how to get them working I discovered they would only work with a monthly subscription service. I also discovered it was very complicated to get working and required apps to be downloaded, and phones to be on the latest Operating Systems. All of that to say, it didn't work out and I was left with two very expensive alarm key chains that emitted a loud whistle when activated.That experience got me thinking - Hey I can get actual whistles at a very reasonable price. They don't require a subscription, an app, or the latest greatest phone to run on. They are very small, lightweight, and portable, and they won't run out of batteries.So I go the "HUTOU Whistle, 2 Packs Stainless Steel Coach Sports Whistle with Lanyard, with Loud Crisp Sound". All I can say is they work great and I hope they NEVER have to be used. But if they do, I know they will work well without any training or new equipment required.
