Close your eyes. Think “jeans.” Now open. They were 501s, right? With a classic straight leg and iconic styling, they’re literally the blueprint for every pair of jeans in existence — burned into the world’s collective cortex ever since Levi Strauss (the man himself!) invented them in 1873. To this day they’ve never gone out of style. And they never will.

Good fitting jean
Remembering the Levis brand of old , these jeans are not of the same quality and feel decididly "thin"They are comfortable though snd have a good fitYou can pay hundreds for Levis & not sure the quality would be sny different !

A great pair of 501's BUT they do shrink even in a cold wash.
I am a 501 guy through and through and I have worn them for over 50+ years so I know how the cloth and the cut both looks and behaves. These are a great looking pair of jeans and I love the all over dark blue colour which will look great paired with casual smart shirt and shoes. That being said, even after a -20c cold wash, they have shrunk noticeably which they should not have done as they were not listed as "shrink to fit" or as "selvedge" so that has taken the edge off the enjoyment of owning them which is a real shame. Hence the low rating and the scores I have provided on the fit.

Most excellent jeans
Long time since I bought Levi jeans. They were generally affordable and then not so! I got fed up with ill fitting cheap supermarket stock, so I tried these as the price was ok. They are spot on, as I remember levis always were. Straight seams and perfect fit. Really pleased with them.

Be pr prepared to try more than one size
My son ordered me 30/30 501s for my birthday as this is my regular fit. I am only 5'1" so always expect to cut the legs so the length wasn't a problem but they waist and legs felt just too 'roomy'. They were comfortable but having other 501s I knew they would probably ease off a little more and be too baggy on me. I returned them for 28s. The waist and hips fit great but the legs were just a little too tight. They seemed to be a different style so unfortunately returned them too. I will probably order 29s if available and try them. The denim appears to be good quality and the service very efficient.

Buy your size, they start tight
Great jeans - I bought them in a 28W32L as that's my waist size and I'm 6 ft, but they are a very tight to begin with. However, they really do stretch quite a lot. I couldn't do up the top button when I got them. After three months of wear, they fit perfectly. 100% cotton, unlike what the product description says (good: elastane is rubbish).Bear in mind that if you're muscular, you might have a bit of a difficult time. I had to stretch out the thighs by force, as they aren't really made for muscular legs despite being straight leg jeans. They fit perfectly on the waist (no belt required) but they're very tight on the thigh. You could go a size up, but they do stretch by about 1.5-2 inches after you've worn them in and stretched them by hand. There's plenty of youtube tutorials on how to do it.I haven't washed mine yet - just the freezer trick and they're perfect.
