Been trying to charge this thing with solar for a month now and it's still dead. Maybe I got a lemon. Guessing 2 panels simply isn't enough.

I’m a bit concerned as the instructions say not to rely on the solar charger. I wish I had read the reviews. Additionally the instructions say to charge the device using the port, and does not actually include a charging cord. I am not upset because of the price, however I don’t believe that it should be advertised as a solar device, that shouldn’t be left in the sun, but should actually be charged with a cord. I feel I have been bamboozled.

It takes awhile to charge with the included cord but when full, it will charge your phone or LED lantern several times before needing to be recharged. A great battery at a low price. I bought a second one for a trip abroad. Good thing too because the "universal" socket chargers I bought did not work in the overseas sockets. These batteries kept us going for days.

These are supposed to be solar chargers but they can't be left in direct sunlight without overheating. If you want them to charge you have to put them in the shade.

My plan was to use while backpacking to be able to make a phone call etc. I charged it from the wall initially per the instructions. Once the battery was dead it would not charge when in direct sunlight for 6-8 hours. Even at half battery capacity I could not put it in the sun and maintain while charging my phone. So as a backup battery, great, as a solar option, don't waste your money. I would have been better off just buying a larger battery backup.

I've been trying to figure out when it charges solar v when it wont. If the backup battery is full, then the solar power will work (even indirect sunlight works). But if the backup battery is dead, nothing works.

When I go this item it charged and would hold enough battery to charge about a phone and a half. It stoped working as a charger or a flashlight after only a month and a half or so. I would look for a different brand.

At first, this charger was great but, within a few weeks, it stopped charging by solar power. We can still use it because we can charge it by plugging it into the adapter. But the ability to recharge the charger through solar power was the whole point of me buying these. I would not buy it again.
