These magnetic door catches are very easy to install with a small drill and a screwdriver, and it is so nice to have a door catch that automatically holds the exterior door in place without having to latch and unlatch the factory hook mechanism. The magnets are strong enough that the doors stay in place even on windy days. A small tug releases the door from the magnet without having to go unlatch that awkward hook thingy. Best of all, the magnets pull the door flatter and closer along the side of our camper instead of forcing it several inches away from the side of the camper where you can run into it with your knee like the factory hook latches do.

It holds the door very well but will not hold the compartment covers up.Didn't notice they came in two-packs, so I accidentally bought 6 instead of 3, which we shared w friends.They've been popular at our campground.

The magnet isnt strong enough to hold the door in any sort of wind or angle at all. They come with screws to mount if needed however, there are no screw holes on the mounts themselves so you have to drill holes in the flimsy metal base yourself. Unfortunately, for anything more than maybe holding open a cabinet door, these are pretty much useless.

Purchased this bit of kit for my travel trailer door to replace the friction hinge that was original equipment. I needed the door to open fully to facilitate access for a disabled individual. Being able to have the door fully open has been great! The only caveat is that the door must be placed in the magnetic holder. There is s shock absorber spring under the ball that will rebound and reject the ball if the door has any momentum when it hits the magnet. If the door is placed in the receiver it will stay put even in breezy conditions. On the whole, I’m satisfied with the RV add on.

We put these on because our Rv door would blow closed constantly with very little wind. Put them on pretty easily and have been in sold winds here in Arizona with no issues. I would recommend this product

They mount easy but do not hold up on a good breeze

Better than the plastic hooks that constantly get broken! NO worries someone will forget to unhook and break it. Magnet catches easily and you just pull no more broken hook.

Love them, removed sticky tape and stuck to rv.
