Quickbooks Manual
Just what I was looking for! A how-to book with lots of examples. I had bought a different book that was of no help. It makes me a little more confident in making the switch from desktop to online, though I'm still not ready to pull the trigger yet. For my needs, it looks like I can get by with the Simple Start version. As the Treasurer for a 44 unit active adult community, I don't need payroll (no employees) and don't have to worry about managing inventory. But I do need a way to print checks occasionally - I primarily use our bank's "bill pay" function. Simple Start does not support printing checks.

In depth resource
I appreciated the in-depth instructions and real world practices. Having said that, this is NOT light reading and is intended for someone who is making a living using QB. I have used this resource several times now in my current job

Definitely helpful!
The author did a very thorough job of explaining much of QBO - how it works, what you need to do, and where to start. Since initial set-up is so key to getting the information you need, my only criticism would be that it did not have a good explanation of Categories vs. Classes vs. Tags vs Projects vs. Customer Type and best practical uses (suggested) for each. To be fair QBO is constantly changing so information may have not been available at the time of writing. It's a great resource for information though. If you use QBO, get it!
