The Hillside Cannibals [DVD]

What have I missed out ? Bought this years ago to bolster my order up with a buyer and have just watched it. It is dire and the low budget is not an excuse to produce something as poor as this ---- I've watched some terrific independent productions over the years which have the advantage of not being ring-fenced by a major studio or producer and that have delivered the unusual successfully.No big name actors, set in the desert and in a cave, no expensive props except a couple of cars, and I suspect the low budget went on the gory effects which weren't particularly frightening or shocking.The film is directed by one Leigh Scott who also 'starred' as one of the hillside cannibals. I will give him his due as I've read his CV on IMDB and he is an enthusiastic film person though not mainstream. I suspect that if this is typical of his work he will never become a success, or even direct an episode from reality tv. But maybe he loves to do this kind of stuff and good luck to him, just give us a warning on the cover of this straight-to-video product so that I can avoid considering buying it.As I write the dvd is only 1 penny on Amazon........ don't be tempted.

Straight to the point- this is one stinker of a film. I made the mistake of expecting a low budget indie horror gem, you know the kind that you occasionally find by accident in a blockbuster bargain bin?How wrong I was!This film is so shit that it actually smells bad! I swear, as soon as I pulled the disc out of the case I could smell feces. The acting is dire, the production is cheap and the costumes and set pieces had me wetting myself with laughter at their lame-ness.A complete waste of time and money (99p to be exact), I would advise all horror fans to avoid this, unless you just want a laugh with a few mates.

A group of young wannabe spelunkers get captured and eaten by ugly cannibals. Cannibals show up at about 10 minutes into the film. More characters are brought along the way because most of the earlier ones got killed and eaten. No character introduction. Pretty boring stuff.Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity.

I fear I lack the words to accurately describe this film. The best I can do is say that it feels like someone has crapped on my eyeballs and then set fire to them whilst I've been bent over and brutally raped up the bum with an 18" penis made of broken glass.

really boring scarcely any gore to justify the 18 certificate, characters are bland and i didnt connect or feel anything for any of them. its low budget yes but thats no excuse for how bad this is. its a lot of people dressed in rags jumping around like monkeys

Fair enough it only cost a couple of quid but it wasn't on for two minutes and I wanted to switch it off. It was so boring and predictable and the acting was pathetic. Then theres some idiot with a very rubber looking mask that keeps grabbing his bits and grunting - lovely! No story, no plot, just rubbish.
