Excellence incarnate, though you may not get the best wood grain.
This is my first guitar that isn't a budget or travel electric guiatar so keep that in mind. I'd been looking over Ibanez' selection of guitars for some time. Both their RG and S series guitar stood out to me.When I came upon this new guitar I immediately knew it was for me: It had my choice of pickups and I love dark wood grain. The cream pickups and trim accent it wonderfully. I did not however get the exact wood grain I'd hoped for. There is literally no lighter color wood as was shown in the photo. That being said it's still gorgeous. Oh and the volume and tone knobs are both made of wood from what I can tell. The Quality seems good to me. None of the frets are sharp. Action is perfect. Tuned up and stayed in tune with very little effort. My inexperience is evident here in that I can't give greater detail, so my apologies. The pickups are exactly what I wanted. I was looking at picking up an S520 and changing the Quantum pickups out for These DiMarzios. Would have been a hundred less but this exotic wood and overall style more than make up for that.In a few words, it sounds amazing. I'm just using an Vox AC30 mini amp and Audo Technica headphones but I've plugged several guitars into it and this is by far the best. The sustain and tone of this guitar makes me just want to sit and play for hours... Speaking of which: back to it!

Very resonant and great sound/feel
I have two of these, one with this top and one with a zebra wood top. Both are light weight, extremely resonant, very versatile, and easy to play. My main guitar is a les Paul, and these are much easier to play. The pickups are versatile, clear, and thick sounding. Fit and finish matched the price. Fret ends were not smooth, but not sharp either. Some very minor finish imperfections but it’s nit picking at the price points. Frets were a little rough, but level and well crowned. Overall it’s a great guitar for the price. It’s very comfortable and out of my way when playing. The pickups are great too. Light weight but heavy enough to feel like a quality made guitar. Don’t let the weird body wood scare you, it’s just like extremely resonant mahogany.
