Well done!
Jeff, a young man in his twenties, is a French language student traveling from Paris to the South of France when he sets eyes on a sensuous French woman, one who is later introduced as Lorraine. He is smitten by her, only to find out later that she is older than him. He’s mesmerized by her charm and wonders if he should stay or get on with his life. The author of this book, William Quincy Belle, offers quite a steamy story, one that leaves you breathless, and it’s definitely a page-turner. After meeting up with each other, Jeff and the woman finally connect, leaving one to wonder if the relationship is something that can work into a permanent arrangement, or if it’s just lust. The reader is torn between the two.I don’t want to tell you how the book ends, but let’s just say you will come to your own conclusions about whether the ending is right or wrong. It’s a toss-up. The ending certainly wasn’t the way I expected it to be. It will also make you rethink how you viewed it as you read it. Jeff and Lorraine have rediscovered things that will change their lives forever. As a word of caution, this book has some passionate scenes in it. And I mean hot! So reader beware! But it’s good… very good. It started off with information about why Jeff had gone to France, and it went into details about his studies. It gained speed from there, but all the mature audience material was tastefully done. I did not lose interest as I read. In fact, I found it to be a book I didn’t want to put down, and I surely will look for additional books by this talented author.

A book that evolved with its characters
The book Lorraine seems to begin with a simple plot and very little to weigh it down. The main character, Jeff, has arrived in France for an intensive and immersive language experience at the beginning of his adult life plan after spending much of his 20s pursuing more creative goals. Almost immediately, he spots Lorraine, and they connect after several encounters around town.At first, their connection is as simple as can be, and both appear to live within each moment as it comes, never stretching too far forward. But slowly, threads of something else weave their way into the story. As the characters themselves begin to wonder if they are experiencing a finite moment in time or the start of something meaningful, so does the reader begin to wonder. The arc of the story and the epilogue are open to interpretation. Whether one views the ending as good or bad or right or wrong might depend more on where the reader is in their life and their personal experiences. The way the conclusion is framed recasts the entire story in a much more nuanced and poignant light. It asks the reader to go back and reflect on certain aspects of the story in a completely different way. This book is quite steamy, which should be noted for readers who don't usually select books with detailed, intimate scenes. In the end, Jeff and Lorraine each discovered and rediscovered things about themselves that would shape the rest of their lives. And the question the book asks—which way would you go at a fork in the road of life—will stay with you well after you've finished reading it.

Cute French Fling
Lorraine is a cute romance novel that follows Jeff as he tries to perfect his French language skills during a short college program before he takes the big proficiency exam and returns home. In an attempt to immerse himself in the language and culture, he strikes up conversation with an attractive woman he keeps bumping into around town, Lorraine. The story goes between Jeff’s experiences in school and his time exploring French life with Lorraine, and of course, a romance between the two of them develops. Should Jeff stay in France or return home to continue his education? Filled with cute moments, sexy moments and all the mundane ones in between, this book is exactly what one would expect from a whirlwind romance overseas. I enjoyed that there was more to character development besides the love making scenes, and I appreciated the conflicts and conundrums that characters faced during the story. I found myself regularly rooting for Jeff to keep learning to be able to pass his proficiency exam, and I was totally jealous of all the authentic French cuisine he got to try from everyone cooking amazing meals. I did, at times, feel like some of the scenes seemed too cutesy for my tastes, and I got the sense that Lorraine was less experienced than her age and history made her out to be. Aside from these two distractions, the story was a fun and easy read.

Love Can Conquer All
In "Lorraine," written by William Quincy Belle, readers are introduced to Jeff Blackwell, a 28-year-old adult student, who joins an abroad learning vacation in France. Thus far, his experiences in France has been more than pleasant, as he meets a 41-year-old french woman named Lorraine and they seemed to hit it off. A potential blossoming relationship between these two main characters demonstrates that age is just a number. With factoring other elements that shows how compatible they are, it adds to the excitement of forming a stronger bond between them. Lorraine experienced some struggles in her life, which made her appreciative of life, including the induglences of simplicities with a splash of luxury. Unfortunately, Jeff has to deal with his own struggles that presents itself more often than not, and he does his very best to hide it from everyone, especially Lorraine.I'm at a time in my life where building relationships are most important than other things others might deem as priority. It was great to read about the struggles of two individuals in two separate life journies that managed to connect on a heart-to-heart level. The understanding and love expressed between these characters can restore a sense of hope for humanity because everyone wants to be understood and loved, through flaws and all. I'm glad to have the experience to read such an amazing romance novel, as relationships involving people who are not in the same age range is quite common in our world. A relatable story that I would recommend others to enjoy.
