Wood Balsam, derived from the Nussartigen fruits of the tung tree (Aleurites Fordii), is a 100% pure natural product. It penetrates deep into the wood's surface, where it dries aushärtet. The wood's surface can be mechanically strong and highly water resistant. Optical and shell retains the wood to its natural properties, the protective film is the surface elastic and dims barely according to. The surface structure of the wood is held in place with a matte, almost reflective layer aromas and highlights. Our tung oil is particularly suited to wood decks, wood fences, wooden houses, garden furniture, furniture, floors, Drechsel pieces/Carving pieces, musical instruments wood boats, knife handles and even masonry. all writing in German, hard to decided what safety standards it follows or has.
I'm sure its perfectly good, but the label is entirely in German and no English, so its hard to decided if this is a cheap fake import or the genuine stuff?I use it for sealing newly turned wooden bowls and I need the oil to be food safe. without any English and there is no CE standard such as EN 71(or I couldn't understand the German equilivant)

Great oil for treating wood work
I use this oil to treat bowls that I have turned on the lathe. The colour change after oiling is not very strong and results in a nice rich colour. (The first photo is before oiling and the second photo is after sanding and with oil applied). The oil does not smell. I believe that it is food safe and will not go rancid like some vegetable oils can over time. Make sure you don't contaminate the bottle with bacteria from your hands etc and it will last for years. If it is winter and your workshop is cold it will go on better if you heat the oil to 20 - 25 'C before applying it. I apply it with a piece of chamois leather.
