Can’t replace battery on this model
Update: The company contacted me and sent me one that can be recharged, so I’ve given an additional star for great customer service. If you care about being able to recharge, then look for and buy that model.I’m going to add another star to go to five, because of the shape and feel of this grip strengthener. While I waited for the replacement, I’ve been using the balls I have for strengthening grip. However, I think there is an advantage in the football like shape of this one. It fills my hand better than a sphere, and I think that will work better than the balls in the long run. That said, I do have smaller hands, so folks with larger hands may experience that differently. The new one, like the old, also gives an inconsistent reading, because it’s highly dependent on finger placement. So if that bothers you, this isn’t the product for you. I don’t mind so much, because I’m trying to declutter. I didn’t want one of those big, clunky grip testers. I like that this is smaller and serves a dual purpose of exercising my hands. I’ll be content with a general sense of whether I make progress, rather than a precise documenting of the progress.Original review below:I would give this four stars if I could replace the battery. It’s not possible, though, and I hate that I will have to throw this away eventually as a result. I bought this thinking I’d use it to help strengthen my hands, but why would I use up battery life doing that? So instead I’ll just use it occasionally to check my progress as I exercise in other ways.I took another star off because it’s very hard to get a consistent reading. Just a slight difference in the angle you are gripping can make a big difference in the reading. What I do like is the size and shape. Also how soft it is. It’s very comfortable to hold. I chose this over other meter styles because of that. I also have too much clutter in my house, so I liked that this was smaller and will take up less room.

Absolutely amazing!
I love this! My whole family uses this daily. It sits on my coffee table and we use it just watching tv. It’s interesting to watch the numbers go up everyTime I use it. So, so easy to hold and grip. I love the feel of it. My family uses it for strengthening our hands. Might order another one. Thank you

Fun to play with
Measures grip strength and its fun. I use it to challenge myself and track my grip strength. Worth the money. It works well. No issues.

Not designed to be rechargeable and very low number readings
Cons: Arrived with a dead battery, very inaccurate strength readings, it is a bit too small for an adult male and Inner design is a hard plastic box which gives little range of motion making it a poor training tool in my opinion.Pros: The surface texture feels nice. Makes a decent fidget toy and is easy on your hands with no hard surfaces where you grip unlike other devices.Detailed review:Charging the Dead battery - Disassembly is simple to get access to the battery. Work the plastic inner core out of the silicone sleeve, pry off the front display plate then separate the two halves. Unplug the battery from the display so that you can hook it up to a charger. The battery is a 3.7v rechargeable battery that uses a micro JST connector. If you do not have one just search for "Micro JST charger" make sure to find a charger meant for LiPo 3.7v. I used the one titled "1S LiPo Battery USB Charger 3.7V/4.20V 6 Channel 1S LiPo Charger Tiny Whoop Blade Inductrix Micro JST 1.25 JST-PH 2.0 mCX mCPX Connectors".Reading accuracy - The displayed number is not even close. It reads about 130+ lbs low compared to the other 2 grip strength measurement devices I own. I know my other devices are accurate as they roughly match up with metal grippers that I can close. Even if this device display was kg instead lbs it would still read too low. Maybe you could use the number to simply compare to your previous values to see if you get stronger but otherwise you should just disregard the reading. My numbers for reference:"Handeful" device: I can get over the device max of 198lbs."Heavy Sports" hand gripper: I can close the 200lbs gripper fairly easily. This device: reads 75lbs on my best attempt so far.Design - Personally I think the engineering design is bad in regards to accuracy, it really should have a charging port on the face of the device but honestly with its reading being so wrong you might be better off not looking at its read out and leave the battery dead. If you disassemble you will see the design that only counts pressure applied to the direct middle of the plastic box and that roughly makes sense with what the read out is. My 2 finger strength with the other devices is around 85lbs and this device reads in at about 75lbs.Conclusion - If you do not care about accurate readings, if you do not mind disassembling and buying your own charger and you have smaller hands this could make an ok over priced stress ball/fidget toy.

Didn't work, but seller sent me a new one
Original post: Doesn't work, not even for one use. Wouldn't turn on. Batteries can't be replaced.Updated to note: the seller reached out to me and sent a replacement of a new one that is rechargeable. It does work and doesn't take batteries. The replacement arrived quickly and their customer service was great.
