Gets the Job Done!
I am beginning my sourdough journey and needed a warmer to help the starter and bread doughs rise in my chilly house. I decided to try this one and am pleased with all that it can do. The heating pad is large enough to accommodate multiple items, like a starter jar and a mixing bowl, and the heat shield is pretty large. When just using the heat shield for the starter jar, I collapsed one side and made it triangular for a better fit, but I like that it was tall enough to work with my 6.7-inch jar. When fully opened, it’s large enough cover two items, although it may not reach all the way to the pad. It still heats the items very well.I like that the time and temperature can be easily adjusted on the controller, and I found that with the pad set to 106ºF, my starter maintained a comfortable 79ºF and was happy at that temperature. The longest interval of time was set at 12 hours which also worked perfectly with my feeding schedule for the starter. Finally, while the warming mat and heat shield worked perfectly well (and I am giving it a 5-star rating based on its functional performance), the packaging and presentation needs improvement. The box it arrived in has a whale and a best wishes message that does not go with a bread warming mat in any way. Also the instructions for use are all about how this mat is only to be used as a pet warmer, and while I understand that it functions perfectly as a proofing mat, the directions really should match what the product is being used for.

Not Working
Just received this in the mail today, and the mat I got is unfortunately also in Celsius even though all the pictures (including the directions) are in Fahrenheit. The main issue that I have is that it just doesn’t hold temp. I’m turning it on to the right Celsius degree I need and it gets warm for a few minutes and turns off.Don’t waste your money buying a cheap solution for your proofing! Invest in a better one, it’ll be better in the long haul.

A must buy item.
OMG! The BEST item I have bought for bread making. Now my dough proofs perfectly. If you don’t have this, you need it. You can thank me later. 😁

Heating Pad
Thus far, I have only used this pad a couple of times; during this time, the heating pad seemed to work as qualified. The Pad is slow to keep the sourdough starter at the required consistent temp. After a few more working applications, this will tell me more as to how it performs.

Temp seems inaccurate
I set on the lowest temp and it didn’t feel like any heat was coming through. Had to set at a high temp to get any response but it eventually worked.

so much better than the proof boxes
Speeds up proofing your bread, and you can dial the desired temp, so you can go fast or slow. Very nice!

Operating instructions a bit sketchy
Can’t give it any stars, as I have no clue as to how to use it.This item is made in China. Bought it, as a bread proofer. The operating instructions, clearly call it, an animal heater.Am aware they eat companion animals over there, so was a bit taken aback. There is nothing, in these instructions, how to use it for proofing bread dough.Perhaps the buyers at Amazon could look more into products made in the USA.
