Cleared up water to crystal clear in a matter of 48 hours.

Before purchasing this uv light I tried numerous methods to clear up the water. Massive water changes, siphon gravel, reduce how much light the tank got, but nothing worked. This cleared it up in one day

Just got done cleaning up about 50 gallons off my floor. Came home to find A WRECK. Found the leak. It was a pin hole leak from the site glass. LEAKED ALL DAY FROM MY CANISTER FILTER. Had it for about 7 months. FU for selling this POS! CRIMINAL!!!

I set up a new lo-tech/lo-intervention planted aquarium with this from Day 1. Set it to 4 on/20 off and haven't had a whiff of algae on the glass at all in the first three months! I know it's working because I have truly let this tank do its own thing (it's a pond theme!) and the glass is pristine.I like how it installs in-line with the filter tubing. It was important to me to keep the tank as clutter-free as possible. I did have to buy a couple hose clamps to keep the tubing on the fittings but verything is working great!

My aquarium wasn't too bad with algae but it has been a persistent problem. 24 hrs and the water was perfectly clear. Won't do anything about algae on surfaces but once you remove that you should be good

So far this UV light seems to be working well. The water in the 55 gallon tank is nice and clear after the light being on 24 hours for several days.I'll try cutting the time back a bit and see if the water still remains clear.It was very easy to install and I have not had any water leaks.

While this unit is well made and does what it advertises, this unit as well as others sold on Amazon should not be used if WITHOUT this modification for ÏN TANK"use as they are lacking what I believe to be an 2 essential pieces for this unit to operate in tank without killing small fish the size of neon tetra's, guppies and danio's. 2 simple plastic filter cap strainer at each end that prevents the fish from swimming into the UV column which will surely "fry" the fish upon entry. See my photo for how I rigged up my own strainers attached with a small dab of aquarium silicone to protect my fish from meeting this premature death. Shame on the manufacturer for not realizing the safety hazard this poses to the wildlife as it is currently being shipped without such safety devices!
