Mortier pilon Mortar and pestle set (5" High Wood Set)

it actually is a piece of artwork, well made and nice enough to just leave on the counter, product was more than expected, very satisfied with both the product and Vendor, will order again, when I find someone in my family who can use one, or perhaps as a future gift item.....Thank You for a really good product, ( and at a good fair price!)

I was advised by my Puerto Rican Foodies group to purchased a good Pilon. It’s purpose is mash, pulverize herbs, seasonings and even adding oils to the process. It is awesome. My group members said the best ones are made from a solid piece of wood and this one is. Weighty but easy to pick up. It is perfect for infusing fresh garlic and herbs into oils. I bought it to make Mofongo, a fried plantain and garlic dish. It was so good, having the mashed garlic and olive oil in it. This is the Pilon to purchase.

Simplemente hermoso

I picked this one because I thought the bark feature was absolutely beautiful. I just received it and it doesn't match the photo the company uses to show their product. It says that it's handmade in India which means that no two will be a like really which I think is super cool. It feels very sturdy. The bowl itself is very smooth and will work fantastically. I'm not sure if I'll keep it yet but it will definitly last a good long while. You'll definitely have a one of a kind unique feature in your home.

I had been using shallow stone ones for a while and it was frustrating because you can't go to town on the smashing unless you have a tiny amount of whatever it is your cruising. They make better decorations and aren't functional. This one, however, is prefect! Yes, you could use a food processor, but sometimes you need to expend excess energy. The depth means you can use more garlic (or whatever) and put more oomph into the pounding without making a mess!

Potable and lovely

Arrived broken (detached from the base) but I received a replacement within days! It is a nice pilon (that’s what we call it in my culture). It looks nice on the shelf and I can’t wait to use it!

Beautiful mortar and pestle. Love the large size for mixing guacamole. Solid wood.
