This is a nice and properly sealed product. Unopened and unused.It does have a stronger scent,but I do not find it bad. The night cream has some oils in it like lavendar and bitter orange. But I don't see parfume as an ingredient. Keep in mind that retinal in general, sometimes does have a tendency to smell.The Vitamin A cream has a vanilla scent mixed with something I can't identify. Vanilla is one of the ingredients. This is stronger smelling than the night cream. It irritated my skin slightly upon use, but it isn't bad, nor does it break out my skin. The tingling feeling dissipates after a few minutes. The Vitamin A cream absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling really soft. It feels lightweight. The smell still lingers though.Be sure to wear sunscreen and don't be out in the sun. Both are to be applied at night, but can make your skin sensitive. The night ceram is nice and creamy. It feels hydrating.

I have tried the day cream of this brand and was very happy with ingredients and performance. So did not even think twice when I saw this night duo.This is a powerful duo for your night time routine. Retinol can be aggressive for some skins so you need to start applying it once or twice a week and then increase depending on how your skin reacts. I have always applied a moisturizer after any retinol cream to lock in moisture and prevent flaky skin (my skin does need that extra support when using retinols).However, while reading the ingredient list, I noticed "dimethicone" was listed as the 4th product for the advanced night ceramide. Which is a bummer since that is a silicone, one of the ingredients I try to avoid by all means since it can clog pores.I am only using the retinal cream pairing with another moisturizer.

Even though there are two vials, I was shocked by the small quantity in this Medik8 Crystal Retinal Youth Replenish Duo. The ingredients are great, and it's nice that two products are used only at night. I will be using this VERY sparingly on only trouble spots.

The media could not be loaded.  Update: I am finding the scent of the retinal to be very off-putting. It lingers for quite a while. I wish that were not an issue as I like the duo otherwise. Once I let it sit and then apply the moisturizer, it helps to calm that scent down, but very much disliking this scent!-----(Sometimes these are priced more than purchasing them separately and sometimes lower so be sure to check out pricing.)Media8 is garnering great recommendations from Good Housekeeping, beauty sites, and dermatologists.About a year ago, I first used Medik8's eye cream and liked it a lot - zero irritation and no migrating in my eyes/contacts. So I was happy to give this Crystal Retinal duo a try.The retinal is an orangey color and very thick. It glides on smoothly but note that this isn't an emollient moisturizer but a treatment--and this one is a 6 on their scale of potency, so it's more for those who know they can tolerate retinol or retinoids. Use this over freshly cleansed face - though I would recommend to wait at least 10-20 minutes after cleansing before applying retinols or retinoids, especially if you have sensitive skin. I have rosacea-prone skin so I wait at least 20 minutes after cleansing, otherwise it will sting and cause redness. This is considered a treatment so follow up with the moisturizer.The moisturizer is super thick and emollient and feels wonderful going onto my skin. I use it after the retinal treatment, and again, I wait a while before applying it to give the retinal time to soak in and start doing its job.I had no irritation to my skin at all - my skin tolerated it quite well but note I have been using a retinol/retinoid twice a week for some time.I do a multi-step process of skincare but for this duo, I could get away with cleanse, wait, retinal, wait, moisturizer, done.I like this brand. It's getting a lot of attention. I do believe it's a British-based brand from what I read.The only miss here is they do not list the ingredients on their page here and that is a pet peeve of mine so I almost took away a star for that. I found the ingredients online and put them both through an ingredients checker. The retinal had mostly good and best ingredients - a lot of powerful ingredients with proven results, 2 unknown, and one worst - the worst was a plant extract that could be irritating but all in all not really a 'worst' ingredient for me.However, the moisturizer had 8 worst and all of these were plant extracts that could cause irritation to sensitive skin, so note that if you have sensitive skin.Also note that you must be consistent in your use of any skincare product, and also that it takes time to see results. So be consistent, and be patient!I'm happy to have this duo.

I use these exactly as they suggested because retinol can be a little harsh on my skin. The moisturizer feels great and lasts all night with me waking up to smooth soft skin. I like it better. I would prefer more products were unscented or try to disguise the scent of the ingredients if that is possible.

I was SO excited to try out this Medik8 Crystal Retinal Youth Replenish Duo Set, as I’ve heard amazing things about this brand.I have pretty sensitive skin and I was able to smell these products before opening the p ackage it arrived to me in! I truthfully thought they were damaged/leaking, but they weren’t. The scent is just THAT strong!! It’s definitely a natural scent (maybe tea tree oil??) I’m not exactly sure what the scent is but it’s STRONG!!!I did try both and they did irritate my skin a bit, but sometimes new products do that. So I’m not giving up just yet. I just hope I can get over the scent to really try these out as I really was looking forward to them.I definitely would say if you’re sensitive to fragrances (even natural fragrances), I do not recommend this set!

This is a very nice product in a box ready to gift. The crystal retinal 6 is intended to be used 2 times a week at first and work your way up to daily use. It is sort of orange in color and has a wonderful scent. The advanced night ceramide can be used nightly all over your face and neck. It has a lighter scent but also has a slight "ointment" scent, if that makes sense. Not too strong but it's there. Overall I love this product and plan to keep using it! Would recommend!
