Q: what is the comfort level for this topper for a side sleeper and back sleeper

I'm a side sleeper and I find this topper very comfortable with plenty of support.

Q: Does it feel like memory foam does when sleeping on it?

To me it feels so much better than memory foam! The support is more evenly distributed. I had a memory foam topper for 4-5 years. My back was giving me issues and I never realized the toppers don't last forever. I began researching my alternatives and found Octasmart! Is worth the price for sure! My back problems vanished as soon as I started sleeping on my Octasmart topper!
