Steaks, Fish, Chicken, this little thing can do it all
I loved the "full sized" Meatsick 4 for smoking larger pieces of meat such as brisket, ribs, boston butt, etc. The Chef X is an upgrade over the original "mini sized" Meatstick for several reasons. It not only got 3 internal sensors which seemed gimmicky to me until I tried it (there's tons of variation in temperature across the meat as it cooks, and it is very helpful to see temperature data across the entire length of the stick) but is also features an external ambient temperature sensor. It is truly just a shrunken down version of the Meatstick 4 which is perfect for smaller cuts that would be too small for the full-sized Meatstick. The battery life takes a hit due to shrinking the size down but it is still a very respectable 7 hours. I personally have never seen mine indicate anything less than 100% but I have only used it for relatively short cooks like steak, fish, and chicken.I use both sticks any time I'm preparing meat to help prevent overcooking while also feeling 100% confident that I won't be giving anyone food poisoning. I use the Meatstick 4 almost exclusively outside on the smoker and anything I can cook on the stovetop or the oven I find the Chef X is just the perfect size. The app can be a little confusing at times, but after a few sessions I got the hang of it. They also are constantly updating the app and I think it has become more user friendly and reliable in just the past couple of months.Overall, I love The Meatstick Chef X, it's a great addition to the thermometers I already have and it's a useful tool that constantly provides feedback on how my cook is going.

App is faulty
There is something wrong with the mealstick app as it shows oven no matter what heat source you use.

Makes grilling and smoking easy
This product is exactly what both novice and experienced grillers need. The probe reads the temp at multiple points within the meat and also tells the ambient temp. The range is so much better than previous models and makes smoking meat a breeze. Almost too easy!

Cloud Services, able to leave and go anywhere
Works great and the able to leave and go anywhere what separates this from all the rest, I have the WiFi bridge and meatsitck , both are easy to setup and use..

Great tool to have
Based on the performance of the MeatStick 4X and its performance outdoors, I decided to order the MeatStick Chef X as with the Canadian climate, at this time of year, the focus shifts to indoor cooking. My first usage was making steaks in the sous-vide. While not really required as one can’t over cook a steak in a sous vide, it was interesting to see the actual time the steak takes as opposed to the estimate and also what the steak temperature is during the BBQ portion. The time for the steak to cook in the sous vide was approximately ½ hour less than the previous time estimate. I could also adjust the ready temperature a few degrees to compensate for the searing on the BBQ, allowing for the perfect temperature for medium rare steak. I did remove the MeatStick Chef X prior to placing on the infrared burner as the temperature is 1800 degrees and the ambient sensor is not rated for that. After the sear on each side, reinserted the probe and the meat was at 130 degrees, cooked and seared perfectly. The app is as easy to use for sous vide as it was for the outdoor usage. The next usage was at Canadian Thanksgiving and was used to roast a turkey. The only challenge was ensuring that the probe was inserted into the turkey at the proper depth. Being smaller than the MeatStick 4X made this easier to do. Find the oven roasted turkey setting on the app and set the turkey in the oven. Turkey was roasted to perfection and the probe made sure the turkey wasn’t overly dry or overcooked.Last trial usage was a roast in the oven and this was easier as the pork was large enough that inserting the probe to the proper depth was easy. Again, select the cooking method and desired “doneness”, preheat the oven, insert the roast and forget. The ability to modify the done temperature is a great feature as we found the app would have the meat slightly more done than our preference. Range was not an issue as I had coverage throughout the house and was able to monitor it regardless of where I was in the house.Basically, having this probe, removes the worry about cooking meat and one has to try hard to make a mistake. With both the MeatStick 4X and MeatStick Chef X, they delivered excellent results. It would be great to be able to purchase the MeatStick 4X and the MeatStick Chef X as a set. Having both probes will cover all the different indoor and outdoor cooking methods and also the various cuts of meat. If you enjoy cooking, having both probes is the way to go.
