one of the best
One of the best on Diet books there is. This book is really comprehesnsive and contains the studies of many Dieticians (who may not well known to the common man even to those in the Nutrition field - Dr. Weston Price for example). Also tells why you have to be careful in eating Alalfa sprouts.

'diet' for life
I bought this book a year ago and forgot about it, only reading it now. I regret leaving it for so long because it's fantastic! It has plenty of information that does take some time to process however it is a huge investment. It's more of a nutritional guide than a 'diet' diet, but I have found I am already naturally losing weight as long as I don't eat anything processed and do keep up some exercise, which is only natural. The main point of the diet is in the name - low grains, as in nothing gluten and high raw fruit and veg intake. Before you get put off by thinking how you can't have pasta again, that's not the point of it at all - it's your own choice, and it actually makes food preparation far, far easier. Avoiding unhealthy foods is a completely natural act after reading this book, because all unhealthy foods that get me stuck nowadays all contain dairy and gluten. I don't avoid dairy completely, but I don't have half as much because now I simply take calcium supplements which was my choice because it's just easier than drinking a pint of milk a day...I have found that I feel far, far better in myself by sticking to all natural foods and zero gluten; however, Kenton never tells you that you shouldn't eat something because it's 'bad'; what is important is that she explains, with clear references and information, of how some foods have a negative effect on our bodies and what have a positive one. Which really, is a far better way to approach a 'diet' book because Kenton addresses you as an adult, responsible for your own health and well-being rather than how many diet programs put you in a child position and give you little responsibility to your health because they are controlling it for you.I have tried many diets in the past where this is this case however after reading this I realise now it is far more about understanding your body better, understanding from the scientific side how our bodies work and quite simply, what makes it work the best. It is easy to understand and even after reading some points you'll think to yourself how much of common sense that was and how you couldn't believe you hadn't realised it before! For every person their approach to life and food is different, there is no one answer be-all end-all for everybody, but this book definitely helps to get you on the right track. If you're looking for a far more informative, self-learning approach to food for the long run, then this book will most probably be the be-all, end-all for you as it is for me.

Most informative and educational on multiple levels
I appreciated the simple language used to explain the benefits to the human body on a cellular and mental level as well as the fact that damage done to the body over time will take time to repair. However, you do feel energised and a whole lot healthier in just a few weeks. This book makes you aware of the beneficial properties of foods we have forgotten about and makes including them in your diet a delicious experience. It is very seldom you find a book classed as 'diet' in most book shops turning out to be educational, a way of life and not just a fad. I recommend this to anyone who feels their health and preformance is suffering and needs to understand how to feed the body the nutrients to live according to it's design.
