Works great!
I was a little concerned getting a refurb, but what I received looked like a brand new unit. I got it to hook up to a heavily modified Two Trees engraver/cutter. I had to switch some of the wires around to make it work. Those instructions come with it, but I had to switch a pair on the roller end too, so it would turn in the correct direction. Basic stuff that you'll always end up dealing with, with CNC/stepper based equipment.I got it to engrave pint glasses. The glass I'm using is slightly too short for the machine, so I printed that green spacer block so it'd sit on the end wheels. There's nothing special to it, it's just a cube with a slot so it can fit over the stock end stop.I'm very pleased with the engraving quality, once I did a few tries to get my technique right. That's all me though, not the roller.

No Complaints Whatsoever
IT IS RARE when something that sounds too good to be true actually ends up being a good value. I would have to say this is one of those times. If you've been thinking about jumping on one of these refurbished units, based on my experience I'd say go for it before they come to their senses and stop offering it.The ONLY snafu was not being able to find the exact instructions for my unit, which at first was daunting, but after you see what they all have in common, you just sort of figure it out based upon the limitations of the wiring harness they supply to connect the mother board to the stepper motors and laser.I put the unit together, downloaded Lightburn, put an image in the graphics field, pressed the "frame" button to see where the image would burn, and the machine tracked the outline of the graphic flawlessly. I adjusted the image to fit the piece, dialed the laser to 75% power at 2400 speed (burning into hardwood) and hit start. Instant success. Didn't expect it to be this easy. I've had the thing for a week and I'm already making money with it.

Very handy, a must for engraving round objects
This was fun to assemble and play with. The assembly instructions were clear, and after assembling and watching a youtube video on how to use it, I was able to engrave some round things to give as gifts.I wish there were better usage instructions included, but the online hobbyist community is great and provides plenty of support as long as you're willing to find it. Probably the only thing you'll need to learn is how to calibrate your e-steps to your object. After that, it worked straight away engraving text using LaserGRBL.
