Worked well
I just looked for a tutorial on youtube and did the install. The tutorial I selected also told you how to separate the LCD screen, but with this I just skipped that step. This has a matte finish, not the nice glossy finish. We might go ahead and get an LCD to fix the glossy assembly, but for right now we're happy with this. The mounts for the screws appear to be plastic which I didn't like... there also isn't adhesive, but that didn't seem to cause any problems. The screen works very well and looks very good. Overall was a pleasant install.OH!, but the assembly doesn't come with the power button or the volume button... so make sure you steal those from your old assembly.

24 Days to Arrive; Defective Garbage
I ordered this on May 6th, 2014 and the expected delivery time was quite lengthy. I was going to cancel the order and find a different vendor, but over email the seller assured me:"your order Estimated Delivery: Jun 2, 2014 to Jun 18, 2014 was wrong. today we will use First-Class Maill send to you, about 8 days will arrive."Today is May 30th and it has finally arrived, 24 days after I was told it would take 8.After some work in dealing with an utterly useless plastic tool (the edge bends and breaks far too easily - my fingernail and a pocketknife were far more useful) I got the front assembly replaced in about 45 minutes. Only after finishing the repair did I realize how awfully defective this piece is. The lower left corner of the glass screen is not affixed to the plastic housing at all. When the screen is on, light shines through this sizable gap. To make problems even worse, the screen responds extremely poorly to touch. The corners are entirely non-responsive and touching everywhere else on the screen is at least a few millimeters off (e.g. trying to touch the Home button results in the phone detecting a touch several millimeters away). I've turned on touch tracking in the developer options and confirmed the issue.Furthermore, it's obvious that this part is not even close to OEM quality. The edges do not match the matte black finish of the OEM part and instead it has a shiny black finish with a slippery feel.I'm furious with the slow and misleading customer service responses and the abysmal quality of this product. I'm demanding a refund or immediate replacement and will update this review with any response I get.

The tools were useful, but I had to return the product
The tools were useful, but I had to return the product, because it didn't line up properly and didn't allow me to close the case all the way. Otherwise, the screen was beautiful and I had an easy time switching everything out. It was just a little off and so i couldnt close the case all the way.

Good replacment
I cannot complain about this product as it works just like OEM and the switch out went smooth. It also is the cheapest I could find online and get in a reasonable time. I wouldn't buy again and am only giving it three stars as you can get it officially done through LG for ~140 so if you want to save ~15 and do it yourself then go for it. I for one like to be challenged and try new things but for ~15 it isnt worth my time.

Great screen...tools were eh....
Dropped the Nexus 5 on a cement floor - no good. Screen was cracked and needed replaced.Found this on Amazon (my main source of everything) and gave it a try. One of the other reviews links to a how-to video with step by step tear down and rebuild instructions. Took me about 90 minutes to get everything taken apart and put back together, and the screen looks like new again. My only gripe (and it's a minor one) was the tool kit that came with the screen. The case openers (look almost like guitar picks) worked great, but both plastic pry tools snapped in half when trying to get the battery out. I wound up using a few toothpicks to slide under the battery and pry it of the adhesive. Also, the Phillips screwdriver that was included was too big for the N5's screws, but anyone that's willing to tear apart a cellphone probably has a bunch of tiny screwdrivers already (like me).I would for sure buy it again

Exactly what I needed
This screen worked great for my US version Nexus 5. It comes with the housing around the screen which saves a lot of time vs. the ones that require you to heat gun it off. There are about 15 parts you will have to take off your phone and put back in place when you do this repair. I am far, far, from being Mr. repair guy and it took me about 1.5 hours taking my time to do it right along with rewinding sections of instructions on youtube. Be very careful when removing the bottom section of your phones backing, it has strong double-sided tape and you will crease or tear the side if you don't allow it to slowly separate as I found this out the hard way by rushing it just a little bit. Follow the instruction closely and rewind instruction as needed. I just youtube searched Nexus 5 screen replacement and it let me to a great tear down video, then I just didn't everything backwards to put it back together. You won't need to take the small power battery out of the backing unless your replacing the backing as well so skip that step in the video.Shipping took about 5 days to get to Utah. Its lookes exactly like the original screen as well as it functions the same, no color or finish changes like others have mentioned. Very happy with my purchase, no more cutting my fingers from rubbing across my cracked screen, I'll be using a case this time around :)

Faulty product
Pretty bad - I've replaced and changed touch screens on phones before and this one was no exception. I know exactly how to do it. This screen, however, is most definitely faulty - Only 2 days after replacing it with absolutely zero use, it developed severe scan lines, lost all touch screen abilities, and began flickering. I tested every other part and put the old screen back on to verify that I hadn't messed anything up to no avail - the old screen still worked fine with the exception of the long crack across it.Disappointing - I would have returned it earlier but I was moving across the country. Didn't want to go through a billion-year return process only to have a new one sent somewhere else.
