These refills are smooth, consistent, and fast-drying. I love Pentel Energel and put these refills in a metal barrel for ultimate luxury. Even though these say "needle point" they are NOT scratchy at all. In the photo you can compare the regular 0.7 tip (bottom, green) with the 0.7 needle point (top, black)

This was a totally frivolous purchase, and I don't regret it, so there! I have been using the Pentel EnerGel pens for a couple of years now, and they're the first ones I haven't lost or misplaced somewhere. The pens themselves are a delight to use, but that's a review for somewhere else. The refills contain gel ink that dries quickly, has a bright and vivid color that doesn't bleed no matter what kind of porous paper you're writing on. I love having pink ink to go with my pink pen, purple ink for my purple pen, and turquoise ink for my turquoise pen. Just silly, just fun, but such a simple little pleasure for a visually dominant color-addicted person such as myself. Oh yes, the refills also do come in pedestrian and boring blue and black as well!

This is the same exact inserts out of the Pentel EnerGel Ink pens.I have used the EnerGel Pens for years and love the way they write. However, it is a plastic pen so it doesn't look very professional. I have an old waterman pen I received as a gift years ago but I hated the way it writes. So just out of curiosity, I the filling out of an EnerGel Pen to put in my Waterman. You just have to snip the end a little then it fits like a dream. I have the perfect situation in both worlds. The only bad part about this was that I always throw away the empty EnerGel pen shell and I just thought it was a complete waste. Now with the refills, my eco-friendly conscious can be cleared.Great product. I would give it 10 stars.

Bought these because the original needle point in my Pentel pen was awesome. I'm left-handed so this ink dried almost immediately...NO SMEARS as I continued to write. The needle point would write smoothly until ink was all gone. I always retract the point so as to not chance it to leak onto my shirt. Afterall, it does say to retract when not in use. Now for the "ugly"....as shown in the picture provided: In no particular order are the refills used in a 5 month span. 4 out of the 12 flowed completely out as designed until it began to skip and scratch. As for the other 8 refills, they began to act up before they got permission to retire. They initially wrote great when freshly pulled from their individually wrapped plastic and their small rubber ball removed from the needle tip but started to skip and scratch as if they were running out of ink after a week or so. Upon replacement, I stored the refills right side up to eliminate the possibility of it doing that during storage in my locker laying flat. Tried them again and they still skipped and scratched. Removed them, stored them down side up. Tried them again and they still skipped and scratched. I used 3 different pens...a Pentel and 2 other Uni-Ball pens. So, my opinion is: the ink is good for leftys, the feeding mechanism is a "hit or miss" design with (for me) a 33% success rate. The sad part is....ONE free, government issued, "silver band" black Skilcraft ball point pen (in picture) always came to the rescue when the refills acted up. That same ONE pen lasted throughtout the 5 month span with smooth writing!!! So, 40% (2-stars) rating for this product. Will continue to use the FREE ball points.

My absolute favorite pen. This is my main go to pen so I was Happy to find these refills available on amazon. Prior to this I was waiting for the office supply store to have a special 1 for $1 sale on them or refills mailed from Japan on another website for about $13 dollars for 12 refills. This is a great deal.The pen is amazing because it is so smooth. The ink flows solid on one brush and effortlessly because its a gel pen. There are pens where on the initial brush the line of the ink fades out, for that reason people press the pen down harder to try to prevent it. This pen doesnt fade unless its out of ink and the ink flows so smoothly you can press lightly on the page with the pen to write.The only people I know who havent liked the pen are those who dont like Gel pens at all. If you dont have a problem with Gel points I highly recommend you check this pen out. They come in 0.5 and 0.7, I prefer 0.7 and really dislike 0.5 but again just a personal preference.The Pen is Awesome.

A friend of mine lent me the EnerGel Black Gel ink pen. The ink writes very smooth and does not bleed. It dries very quick and the shade of the ink is a true Violet. My last gel pen I used was more of a magenta so I am very happy with this color and purchase!

I have been using Pentel premium pens for a few years as I find them to be some of the smoothest, best writing pens for under $15. I finally took a chance ordering the ink refills when I saw a price drop on these black 0.7 metal needle tips. The information on each item was all unclear if they worked on all Pentel Energel pens or just certain models. I added a photo showing the package it arrived in, the individually wrapped ink refills, a side by side of the new refill and the original one from this specific pen and finally how it looks when put together. These are nearly identical (if not identical) and they write smoothly after unwrapping the plastic piece and clicking a few times. I have since replaced the ink in my Pentel Pearl pen with one of these refills and it fits there as well.

These leak and make a horrible mess! So far two of the three refills have leaked. DO NOT BUY THESE! I am very disappointed in this purchase.Update: Four out of five have leaked.

The ink for these pens is great - very smooth and works perfectly in both my energel-x pens and my energel sterling pen. there is a small cap on each of the refills to prevent them from drying out, and each refill is well constructed - I have had absolutely no issues with any of them so far and have gone through about 20+ of these pens/refills.However, the packaging of these refills is a little wasteful - each individual refill is packaged in what seems to be non-recyclable plastic, and the refills themselves will definitely be difficult to recycle. The box is, however, recyclable.The ink itself does not last the longest time - I find myself running out after about 50-ish a4 pages of writing. It is also not the fastest drying ink when compared to ballpoints, and so left handed people may have problems, but for a gel pen it is very decent.Overall great quality refills, just wish they could last a little longer, and be packaged in paper or something recyclable if they have to be individually packaged at all

beware!!! this shows picture of refill pack of 12, clearly said 12 pack, but what you get is just 1 refill. what a rip off

Complete rip off, description says pack of 12, you only get 1. Not using them again as clearly description is misleading

Wish I had read the other negative reviews before ordering, I also only received 1 refill even though it is listed as a pack of 12.

Beware you only receive 1 refill after weeke of waiting.
