Amazing Spider-Man By J. Michael Straczynski Omnibus Vol. 2 Deodato Cover [New Printing] (Amazing Spider-man Omnibus, 2)

A very good follow up to Volume 1. This Omnibus has some really iconic moments for Spider-Man as far as mash ups with other super hero’s, as well as One more Day with the passing of Aunt May. I really enjoyed Spiderman going to Washington and paving the way for the Civil War arch. (SPOILER AHEAD—>)One story I didn’t really connect with was the whole turning into a spider and reborn thing after he dies don’t wanna spoil to much but yea..Overall it was a great read, Phenomenal art, and dialogue didn’t feel cheesy like other comic reads.

Completing one of my favorite runs on ASM! This run actually brought me back into comics after over a decade of avoidance. The marvel omnibus treatment is just top notch.

Love the binding and the story! A lot better than volume 1!! The part with dr strange towards the end of the run is soooo good

Best modern spidey writer hands down

While not as good as Straczynkski's 1st Omnibus, this one is still solid, with many good story arcs and some truly great ones, like Parker goes to DC and Back in Black. If you're a Spidey fan who hasn't read these, definitely grab it. You may, however, want to avoid the abominable One More Day. That story is especially horrific because JMS handled Parker and MJ's relationship better than any other Spidey writer.

Straczynski is a great Spider-Man writer. His run with John Romita JR for 30 ish issues are some of the best Spider-Man stories ever told in an ongoing. However once JRJR left, the run suffered a dip in quality especially when it hit Sins Past. The last omnibus had all of these stories and because it contains the JRJR portion that got 5 stars from me. However, the run afterwards suffered a dramatic dip in quality. While still very good, it never reached the same heights that straczynski had achieved with the character in his first 30 issues. Still, stories within this omnibus are still enjoyable, The Other and Back in Black are the best. However, one cannot talk about this Omni without mentioning the elephant in the room, One More Day. This story is worse than Sins Past for me simply because it basically invalidated Straczynski's entire run. Even he knew it which is why he left the story before it could even be finished. The story disrespects fans so much that it got many fans to stop reading comics for a while, me included. That being said, Straczynski still is one of the best Spider-Man writers, and I still have fondness for his run. I can't give this 5 stars, so I'll give it 4. In reality the story is around a 3.5 for this Omni, and I can round up to a 4 for the art, which is great from Deodato, Garney, and Quesada throughout. Shame it had to end the way it did, but the past is the past

Epic final to great run ! I am not a fan of OMD story but it was not a decision of JMS.Peter Parker vs Kingpin in jail is FENOMENAL !!This time Amazon.de only used one peace of paper in packing...but no destruction to omnibus.
